The reason the new mustangs are ruunning 13.5 or anywhere around there is due to suspension desighn. Not so much as to HP. LS1's are still putting out 30-60 more hp then even the 05 Mustangs. And the current cobra does not have an edge over the C6..you out of your mind. More hp+less weight= faster car.

And the new cobra will not be a car we can all afford. Its gona cost as much as a vette and still wont handle like one.

Not trying to take anything away from the mustang as it is a great car. But you are unrealistic about mustangs..You always have been. One mustang runs a 13.3 with perfect wether on a perfect day with a crazy good sixty foot time and all of the sudden every mustang made is fast.

If you pull the same sixty ina LS1 as a New GT or mach1 theLS1 will always win. Mustangs are coming off the line good and thats where they are getting their great times from.
When I see a mustang run a 13.1 w/a 2.2 sixty trapping 108 bone stock like My LS1 did or many other I have seen do it, or trap 109" Mine did" with 2 bolt ons..Ill bow .with the exception of the 03+ Cobra . But even a stock blown cobra dont run much better then a 13.2 with a 2.2 sixty. We all know it does though.

 

No it was not. I have archive mag's here at the house somewhere of a 93 road test where the 93 cobra actually ran a 15..A fricking 15 man, come on! Ill give the edge to the mustang in the 80's but a tune port 350 is faster then a 5.0 Slightly faster but still faster. But the majority of the ponies then where faster then the majority of the F-bods..Enter 4th gen. The oppsite became true.

These cars have been neck to neck for years. But in reality, 4th gens have the edge over Mustangs even to this day. Except for the 03+Cobra wich didnt debute until the F-bod was dead. LS1's put down every bit of 350 HP stock.Thats a great deal over any N/A Mustang. And once you start putting on the bolt ons they get start getting crazy fast.
Thats just the hard to except truth.
Let me stress im not putting down the Mustang so dont get all pissy with me. I like mustangs and I would own one" Used to have a 89 GT 5speed with a 125 shot". But LS1's are superior to all NA mustangs easily. I beat Cobra's in my LT1 when it only had a CAI. I beat a few manuals and never ever had a problem with an auto. The LT1's where superior in their day and the LS1's..even after death still rule the roost.
