SS Silverado goes down

Last night I was out just drivin around, going to the dairy queen where we were going to meet and chew the fat and I noticed this guy in a sparkling new, no plate, just paper liscense in the window, Chevrolet Silverado SS (which is a very nice looking truck btw) and he was being such a dick. He was just revving and gunning it at everyone.

It was a tuesday night so there really wasn't anyone around esspessially when I pulled next to him at the light. I just looked over and checked the truck out, no reving from me or him, and then looked forward and waited for the green. I wasn't going to race him. Had no intention to. The light turned green and he just jumped on it. It lauched pretty hard. I would guess that it would though since it's awd. Then I just gunned it, he was about 1 car on me till I caught traction and I sped past him and he kinda shut down so I did too. And I thought that was that. Then without rhyme or reason he jumps on it again and caught me off guard again. I thought to myself, maybe he thought he won? I'll shut him up for tonight. He got almost to the nose of my car before I gunned it and just ate him alive. I put like 5-6 cars on him just so he knew who was the winner this time.

I always wait for the other participant to catch up for the friendly good race wave but he didn't want to catch up. He just hung way back there. At the next light there was a couple cars in front of me and none in the next lane. He came by and just reved it and gunned it for a sec or two. Some people just can loose with dignity. Only one time did I get a wave back, and that was from a newer Mustang GT owner. Which kinda through me for a loop. I guess they can't all be bad.

Good kill! I hate cocky drivers too! F'n ******. I used to drive around in an $800 Firebird with a built but still mild 361, Turbo 400, and 3400 stall convertor. I LOVED racing new Mustangs and the occasional Vette as most of the owners thought there was no way this blue hunk of crap was even seriously going to race them. Money does not buy speed, and a $40,000 plus "muscle truck" that has ~360 HP and weighs 5000+ is definately going to get smoked by that "lesser" F-body. I love humbling the owners of more expensive and newer cars.

Good kill. I wish street racing didn't involve talking ****. Why can't it always be friendly?

Amen! I raced a bike (600CC) a few weeks ago. Yeah you can imagine how that went. When I caught back up (miles down the road mind you...) I still waved and gave the "sign."

NOTE: The "sign" is index/pinky raised, all other fingers down.

Good kill though, my neighbor has an SS Silverado. What do they run the 1/4 or 1/8 in? AWD must help them some in the 1/8th no?

I had one try to put run me the other day on a 2 lane. I passed him like he was sitting still. I was surprised on how slow it was.
