Older C10 truck vs my 95' Z

Sittin' at a light yesterday with a friend of mine. Her and I are shootin' the breeze and not really paying any attention. This 4x4 older chevy rolls up cammin' like crazy. Sounded really nice and very mean. 3 guys stretched across the bench seat. They talk and look a little but I couldn't hear what they were saying(truck was too loud and the bottom of the fender was right at my ear). Light goes green. I roll into it a little just to start moving ahead(didn't really plan on racing). Get about halfway through the intersection and he nails it right next to me. I jump all over the throttle and get about 20ft of wheelspin but stay pretty much next to him slightly losing some ground though. He didn't spin at all. By the time she hooked I just pulled right out and away from him. Shut down by 50-60mph. Well ahead. I gave him the thumbs up and the motion I was spinning like crazy. The passenger laughs and said "we noticed". Dunno what kinda mods the truck had but atleast full exhaust and a cam(very lopey). Of course it was an early 70's 4x4 so it probably weighed twice what the Z does. Fun nonetheless. My friend said she's now scared to ride in my car, I've never floored it with her riding shotgun before.

My friends dad has a C10. That thing is quick. He put in a new GM 350 motor with a nice amount of mods and I think he is breaking 10's NA and he plans to throw a shot into it. Very nice truck and if it wasn't so loud it would be a nice sleeper too. Looks stock except for the tubbed out rear and the skinnies in the front
