People have gone 13.6s with bone stock 99+ GTs. They are a good race for LT1s stock for stock. Sometimes the LT1 will win, sometimes the GT will win. "They will still never win" is an untrue and stupid statement. Mach 1s have gone 13.2ish bone stock. LT1s have gone 13.4ish bone stock. Just because this is a GM board does not mean all of us support bs about GM vehicles.

I also says it weighs less, plus it has better gearing as well. So let's see, a car making MORE power that weighs LESS and has BETTER gearing can't run the same time if not better? That's my point man. You're the one not realizing this. The '99,'01 Cobras were capable of mid 13's stock, a bit stronger running Mach1 would have no problem with these numbers either.

Someone ran a 14.2 at 102 in a stock LS1 at my track. I'm not going to start thinking no LS1 can go faster. A car's potential as a whole should not judge on a subpar driver.

 

Dude you got this **** so twisted run a 14. 2 in a ls1 hell can he drive. I ran a 13.0 with flowmaster mufffler and lid A4 at that. When I saw the mother run a 13.6 in the mach 1 he had cold air and programmer he dead hooked and every gear sounded clean he made a good run.I was suprised it ran that fast. Like I said haven't seen one go faster don't really believe they can. And about the lt1 it makes more torque its going to get out of the whole better I don't believe the freaken mach 1 can catch up. Thats my opinion ok you guys need to quite gettin pissed off calling me a honky or whatever hell you guys don't even know me. If I believe The cars to be better and faster that I'm talking about and have good reason to believe so what do you guys care. My dad's 00 GT with heavier chrome wheels and the addition of a K&n air filter went 13.7x at 100.xxmph. Of course he has been driving stick cars for 25+ years and been racing just as long. My best time in his car was 14.20 at 98mph.

Plenty of bone stock Mach 1s have run low low 13s at 106mph in stock form.

 

Just because you haven't seen a stock Mach 1 go faster than 13.6 means they can't? A Mach 1, 5-speed is faster than an LT1 stock for stock with great drivers in both cars. Opinions don't mean sh**. Facts are facts.

A stock '01+ C5, 6-speed hardtop is a very close race to a stock '03 Cobra.

I find that to be a strong statement considering what I have seen on the net recently. I did a little research on an 03 Cobra mod/et list from the Corral after my race. The stock 03's trapped between 107-113. A wide discrepency, but most were around 109-110. Well with striking distance of C5 LS1 Vettes. Trap speeds vary as much as LS1's. My car trapped 2 hundredths shy of 108 Bone Stock, yet my friend can't get his stock SS to trap higher than 103-104. It seems to be a similar case with the Cobras, just on a higher scale.

 

Nice kill I'll take an ls1 and 15k for mod money any day over 03 mod mound.

I can get a used body for $500 and have 14.5k for mod money.
