Because the LS1 is a mechanically superior engine, and its nice to see the underdog win sometimes.

 

Wow i didnt think this thread was going to be a big topic but i thought it was nessesary .. This way we can all now join against the mustangs and ricers...... we alll know that we have dominated for the longest time noww soo lets keep it that wayy... As they said chevy stopped making camaros so that ford can catch up..BTW haha i am a kid 16 years old hopefully that kid filter wont filter me out hahahha.

 

reason for no mustang kill stories is easy. they are scared to race us anymore.
wheelman, when did any LT1 guy here argue with u and say the LT1 was better? i think we all know that the LS1 is more advanced, thus making it a superior (godlike) motor/combo.

 

I agree about the mustangs being scared........ but some of them are some cocky mothaf*ck%ers

 

Although i cant talk from both sides cuz i dont drive an LS1, I agree that we should be ganging up on the imports and sh*tstangs. The other day i pulled up to a 3 lane stop light next to a riced out Nissan 350Z, at which time i noticed a 35th anniv. SS on the other side. the light went green and we all took off. Off the line to about 30mph we were all even and then the SS and I started to inch away from the 350 at which time the SS started to leave me. Moral of the story....CAMARO wins. let me say that one more time. CAMARO wins. At the next stop light The guy in the SS and I just gave the good job nod and went our separate ways. I am an LT1 owner and I will say that the LS1 is a far more advanced and all around better engine. Not taking away from the mighty LT1 but i like to state facts. Because of these facts this CAMARO lover will more than likely do a LS1 transplant when the old LT1 sh*ts the bed. talking about beating another Camaro or another Chevy in general is like kicking your brother in the *****.

 

According to Chris, I talked down the LT1 and my car is slower then his, when all I did was make some general statements.

I don't even believe that the LS1 is godlike, or inferior to the LT1 in anyway. I just think since the LS1 is built with better component with better engineering, that it is more responsive to mods and has a lot of potential.

yeah and noone can argue with that statement. the LS1 is one of the best platforms. just sucks i am stuck with the LT1

 

Doing a motor swap on a 4th gen LT1 car to an LS1 is alot harder than it seems. Look it up sometime. It will be more of a nightmare than its worth. The difference you would spend just trading the car in on a LS1 car is going to for sure be less than what you pay for a motor/fab work to get it to fit/work.

And the wiring will be a nightmare.

 

In about 3-5 years we will all be hearing about the LS1 that beat the LSX in the 5th gen. That's just how it will always be.

As the LS1 cars get older and cheaper there will be less and less, "my LT1 beat an LS1". There are just more modded LT1s around right now. Just as when the 5th gen comes out there will be more LS1s modded. Look at how far the aftermarket has come with the LT1. There are way better cam and head combos, decently priced longtubes, the list goes on and on. Just think back as to what the LT1 guys had 5 years ago. I felt robbed. The 3rd gen guys had all of the aftermarket, while we were using crappy Hypercrap stuff, airfoils and Hotcams. The LS1 aftermarket has recently started to really take off thanks to the LS6 and the newer LSX engines. Wait for about another 5-10 years. That's when owning an LS1 will really payoff.

Our poor little LT1 is an oddball engine that can't really benifit from previous technalogy because it is so much better and what technolagy came later can't be used either. Trust me, if I could get a set of LSX heads to work on my LT1 I would.

Two years ago I wanted to go buy an '02 SS or WS6 because they looked so damn' good. My wife was pushing me towards a C5 vert after she test drove that, but when it came down to it I ended up with another LT1 car because that's what I have always liked.

I guess the point of this is that we all drive and love our F-bodies and should give each other props no matter who beat who in what. F-bodies will always race other F-bodies because we will always want to know who will win. Kind of like brothers trying to out do each other. The little brother may have just juiced up for the fight. But in the end they will still be brothers who will back each other up when it's needed.
