Yea not much of an import fan here either but I spent a few mths intensively researching evo's/mods because i was contemplating getting one...9's are atleast a 1/2 second faster then the 8's on average...Like you said a mbc,a flash/tune and some exhaust work and low 12's are cake. Reason i decided against Evo's is for what I could get one of those used I could easily pick up a terminator cobra for the same price or cheaper.Most 9's are still over 30k. Beautiful cars but there's better bang for the buck out there for me though.

 

Well, i kill LS1 cars, several so far, only 2 have beat me, one was on H/C and N2O, the other was pro charged. I am doing this on a 2.73 so i hope to hit high 11s or 12.0s with a 3.73 gear.

lol you completely disregarded everything i said, read first and gain some knowledge... any big turbo evo will easily pull past 100... i find it odd how a stock turbo evo 9 can run 115 (omfg that over 100!? what the hell not possible) in the quarter with 3 bolt ons, yet they dont pull over 100

 

I raced one with the same mods you say your friend has, i only had bolt-ons at the time and put it on that car from a roll. From 40-100 he pulled a fender, then at 100mph he got atlteast 3 cars put on him by 115mph. We even ran the same damn race 3 times, same thing every time. But yeah i'm sure your friends car has 3 bolt-ons and traps 115mph.

I agree 100%. If you factor out AWD, they're about as quick as the Srt4. Calling bs because it lost to a 383 v8 is pretty dumb.

And those numbers you quoted are pretty fishy. Most guys with basic bolt ons are lucky to hit 110 mph traps.

 

lol most guys with basic bolt ons in 8s have a hard time with 110 an evo 9 is a much better platform go do some research and check it out, i have no need to speculate i know plenty of large turbo and stock turbo evos

 

The Evo 9 has 286 hp stock and more then a few have ran 12.9-13.0's @106.xxx stock. Your average neon runs 14.0-14.2's @ around 101-102 traps. The cars are in an entirely different league and its not because of what wd it is. The extra 50 hp the evo has might have something to do w/ it.

the 12.2@113 was done totally on pump and 93-octane, the 12.003 was done on a 25psi spike with 100-octane (not tuned for it though)

Tell them once i put a new intercooler/piping on and should run about 11.5 once i get my C-16 map. My car is pretty fast for what it is but there are plenty of other evos running similar times to mine with similar mods. And honestly i am not a great driver or anything, that 1.73 60' is like average-good pretty much.

 

Now now we factor in race gas and a tune. What else was done to the evo? I still dont buy the bs you spew.

Oh and btw the evo was the 04type body style. I'm not going to search to find out what model it is, all i know it they are ugly as sin and highly overrated. Not to mention a complete turd after 100mph. Sell your camaro and go buy a evo already.
