I seriously hope nobody thinks that is the norm. Bone stock, I could see it, but with a full exhaust and an intake and "etc" whatever that means. This guy cannot drive. He should have been low, low 14's. As far as the 285 rwhp, that's pretty good if he's on the stock intake manifold (which I'm assuming since Z28Horn didn't say otherwise). If he is, there's quite a bit more power to be had from swapping over to an Edelbrock or TF intake manifold or something of the like. If he isn't, I have seen those numbers before, but they've gone a bit above 300rwhp with a proper tune. The Mustangs curb weight is just shy of 3300 and the camaro is almost 3500 lbs. So with his weight advantage and if he does better than some crappy 2.something sixty foot, he will take you. He can get more power out of his setup, and he should eventually be in the high 12's with proper driving.

Re: MUSTANG Scare??

Gotta remember, the guy with bigger dyno numbers doesn't always win.

I say the GT is going to hand you your ***.

Also, keep in mind that the 95 gt's were rated at 215 (?) hp from the factory, so he's picked up an additional 100 rwhp.

Re: MUSTANG Scare??

Well the races this last friday were cancelled. I DID manage to meet up with him at my buds house. He said he didnt want to run them out where we live and said he would rather wait for next friday. I did get to run him from a 40 roll leaving my buddies house, dead even up to 75-80 so this should get interesting, i dont think he will hand me my *** unless he can pull 80-105 like a madman. He was pissed. What is possible for a sixty foot time on my tires, 265's 50 series. can i beat a 2.1?? Let me know on your street tire times, suspension is stock for now. Thanks guys.

Zach Horn

P.s. His intake manifold is a used cobra intake.

Cool, should be interesting. As far as the sixty foot, a rather large factor is going to be how well the track is prepped. I know here on Tuesday night street legals at Indianapolis Raceway Park, they don't bother to put any VHT down and the track sucks, people can't get any better than a 2.something unless they're AWD. Keep us posted.

I hate people that can't drive their car and give a bad name to other drivers. People hit lows 14s high 13s with all the bolt-ons and are in the 12s with H/C/I.

Your so right! I try explaining this to my Friend's all the time. Some engines dont put the power down as good/steady, early. I had a friend with a 300Z that dynoed 370 to the wheels and my nearly stock TA handed him his Azzz after he got back from nopi talking **** about the LS1's he seen dynoing there. He was saying they only dyno 265 and all this other shiznit so we took it to edgewater race park where I promptly whooped him with only Lid and a catback knowing damn good and well I wouldnt dyno 370 to the wheels.

Oh for sure man, are you going to be doing any tuning at your house friday after you get home from school or are you going to do all your tuning at the track? We definatley have to get plastered after the races friday night, as usual. See you friday.

Re: MUSTANG Scare??

What did your friend with the Z run? My old 341 rwhp beat a few stock/near stock LS1's.

I definitely agree with what you guys are saying though. Turbo cars especially, can make great peak hp numbers, but the area under the curve is pretty lame compared to the v8's. A few years back I raced a buddy of mine with a 315 rwhp fox body w/weight reduction in my 401 rwhp Supra TT. I simply couldn't beat him....at the strip or from a roll, he would still inch on me. Don't know if he was lying about his numbers, but it was very frustrating.....until I raced him again in my 445 rwhp vette and destroyed him At one point I had both cars at the same time and both put down around 440 rwhp, the Supra ran 13 flat @115 mph and the Vette ran 12.20's @ 120. Dyno's definitely don't tell the whole story.

He ran a few 13.3's and a 13.2 all at 108.
