per say 87 vz 91. How much power would you guess you are losing? I've ran both and didn't notice a difference. But that's why I'm here. To learn.

The only cars that I know of that run well and use 87 octance are the new Mustang GT's and there is no audible pre-detonation in the cars stock.
Don't tell me I'm not understanding. I already said what you are telling me I don't know.

I never said I've done it. And I wouldn't do it either, especially in this car. My brother does it. NOT ME.

The problem only becomes a true problem when the PCM can't pull enough timing to prevent detonation. Having knock retard is not a bad thing, it's a very good thing cause that's what's saving your motor. Now, having TOO much knock is stupid, and running the car too hard with even a small amount of knock also is not good because of spikes in KR. What most people don't know is that almost ALL cars come from the factory showing KR.

Trust me I know all about Knock and detonation from my last car. It was supercharged with alcohol injection.

So basically you admin that 87 will cause knock retard during a race...Next question: why the **** would you want to race w/ knock retard? Do you think the advantages of running 87 outweigh the power loss of knock retard? I sure hope not.

pointless. Might as well save the money from the octane boost and put it towards better gas.
