Contrare, my friend. Unless you're lying, I'm old enough to be your daddy. And I know all I want to know about you. How? I read your post.
LOL. So many thoughts in this one. Let's see...
Nobody asked me to reply. Correct. Then again, nobody asked you to post, either, so I guess that makes us even.
Nobody pissed in my cereal. Sorry.
I've been on this Forum for way, way longer than you, Junior, and I have no intentions of leaving it just cause you don't like it. Sorry again.
Which one? I've had about a dozen or so...including 3 F-bodies and a Vette.
$3500 for a 95Z with those mods? Hmmm...I see one of three conclusions here.
1) Mommy and Daddy sprang for most of it.
2) The car is a rat trap, hence the price.
3) You're lying.
nuff said indeed. This has got to be some of the stupidest reasoning I've read on this Forum. Do yourself a favor next time - think a bit before you post.
LOL. So my 04 Cobra is an "economy sports car"? Mmkay. And don't worry, I agree that is is a waste of time to pulll out an automotive terminology dictionary with you. Complete and total waste of time>
LOL. This is really some funny stuff. Please continue.
Ok Junior. Let's pretend for a sec that what you said here is accurate. Assuming this, why are you driving one of these "new" cars that lack "form" and "rigidity"? Huh? Bueller?
Bahahahahahaa. You know not what you say, young man. You gotta broadband connection? Download this. Then sit down to a meal of your own words.
Translation: I don't know what its run - though I'm going to try to convince myself and everyone here that it runs high 13's.
Huh? "ratings"?
Bummer.
Let me assure you....taking your post apart is excellent fun and relaxation for me. But thanks for the concern.
Uh. No. However, are you in the San Diego area? I was out there last week, and will surely be there again in upcoming months? Perhaps we could meet up and have a cold one sometime? Soda, of course.
Thanks for the advise, but you'll kindly forgive me if I ignore it. And as for you threads....you post it, you live with the replies. Sorry.
You have a wonderful day now, ya hear?

so a newer member was happy that he beat a mustang and he has some pride and calls them rustangs and uses some words that neither I or most people have heard. What is the big deal, he is happy and beat a mustang. the whole thing turns into a big drama fest between z dub and cosby. who the hell cares you both look like asses. I don't care what cosby's credentials are most of the stuff he says has some merit but others seem to come right out of his ***. An ls1 with a 6lb blower will blow up beacause of the weak rods and pistons. Get a clue, and before the mustang guys jump on me for being an lt1 guy check out dragonrace.com. i worked there and helped build the 1500 h/p car on the website.
leave the guy alone he beat a mustang
Nice kill

to clarify the ls1 blowing up with a 6lb blower, get a clue was part of that. Mr. Cosby said that in an earlier post. I have built and seen many of these last a very long time with stock motors pushing 500 h/p

No sir.
I don't mind the trash talk, that's what this forum is all about. I do have to close them when things get personal though. Otherwise I end up with 2 or 3 messages from people who get their panties in a bunch over just about anything.

I wonder how some people function in this world. Good drugs I guess.

Keep it clean gents and gentiles.

Not saying it isn't possible - and most of us are aware of the potential of the LS1. I'm quite aware of the fact that there are quite a few LS1s out there with blowers (some with quite a few miles), and that they don't need a lot of boost to make good power (boost is a poor number to judge with anyway - its total airflow that counts). However, when playing with 10:1+ compression, cast pistons, and boost, you're playing with a loaded gun. At some point, its going to go off.
Same thing applies to non-03/04 stock 4.6s.

Re: LT1 lookin shabby, danced on a 5.0
Agree. I'll admit...sometimes it gets a bit on the personal side. Sorry.
Records? Would like to, but the other serious 4V 4.6 in the class is likely to take it away from me either this weekend in Michigan or at the last race in Bowling Green. He makes a bit more power than I do and his car is far more race-ready than mine (big, big dollars!). Regardless, I'm this close to wrapping up the points in F/S, and hope to do so Sunday. Wish me luck, please...I always need it.

Re: LT1 lookin shabby, danced on a 5.0
To clarify bob I have built a few stock motor blower ls1's. From my experience unless the boost is up the ls1 handles very well with bolt ons and 6lbs. this is not to say that all of them do. not many people want to strapa blower onto their ls1's without motor mods. But this is coming from a guy who decided his lt1 could handle a 200 shot without ever taking the valve covers off. it did but she paid the ultimate price
Re: LT1 lookin shabby, danced on a 5.0
Ok. With modest boost levels, a safe tune, and a driver that doesn't try and drag race it at every stop light, you can certainly get a stock LS1 (or other late-model engine) to live a relatively long life with a blower. Personally, I wouldn't do it - but many folks do. I'd venture to say that the number of Mustangs with aftermarket blowers is far greater than F-bodies (for a number of reasons we could discuss), but again, I wouldn't do it.
Personal preference I suppose.
OH...and thanks for the vote of confidence Mr Stone.

Zeedub, good kill on the cobra. BTW all 5.0 cobra's have 5 speeds.
Having owned a many 5.0's and a LT1 (and LS1) I feel that the LT1 is faster than the 5 liter cobra's. But my mother had a '96 cobra that I felt was very close to the LT1 that I had. I could'nt tell you which felt faster. And I did'nt take either to the track. But she told me that she did beat a 4th gen camaro that kept egging her on.That was in '97 so it was either a 6 cyl. or a LT1.She said she had it up to 120 which is hilarious.(picture a 57 year old lady doing 120 in a Cobra racing a camaro
) I guess thats were I get my craziness from.
Zeedub , you should take your car to the track. Its alot of fun and you'll have a time to back up your future posts. You should be able to run very low 14's.
I own a LS1 and would'nt even consider a blower untill I build a low compression shortblock with good internals. And I'm not doing that until I get a 12 bolt rear which I'm saving for now.Its pointless to have over 500 hp and be afraid to get on it because the 10 bolt rear is'nt much stronger than a toothpick (exagerated but you know what I mean).
