Well, first race in my new LT-1.... and it was against an all black 5.0 cobra... manual tranny, took him from the start, and just danced with him for about a half a mile... every time he pulled on me i would stomp the gas and romp about a car length ahead of him, let him catch up and do it again... i had fun tonite!!!! anyone else dance on a Rustang before?

haha good old Rustangs, dance on almost all the 90's style around here. Oh yeah all of the new GT's too. No Mach 1's around though.

Obviously you have not come across any mildly modded 96+ Cobras or 99+ GTs.

toneloc- You do not want a MACH 1...Good driver can get those things into the low 13's (13.0-13.2) times

I know Mach 1's are pretty sweet. That's why i said i haven't danced on them. I hate fords but i would take a new Mach 1 or Cobra.

Actually I've raced lots of 99+ GT's and a few 96+ Cobras at the track. One comes to mind with a guy i know '01 GT 5spd with intake catback and drag radials. Best he could get was a 14.2. I'm not bragging about how fast my car is... high 13's isn't very fast. But it is fast enough to beat the majority of Rustangs around here.

and one of my favorite parts of going to the track is seeing mustang owner's warming up their street tires and blowing 2nd gear out of their car.

I have never met up with a mustang that wanted to play. I just can't believe my luck. My car is by no means "all that," but for you stang guys out there come on show me some go. I tried to beg an older guy in a mach 1 at a light by throwing him a gay rev and still nothing.

Stock for stock an LT1 like his and a '96+ Cobra or '99+ GT is a very close race, therefore LT1s are slow by your logic.

Ive beat about a 90 5.0 from a stoplight.I think it was stock because I crushed him.Ive also beat a 99+ gt from a 45 mph punch.It also happened to be a woman driver,but usually I cant get mustangs to race me.Not very many modded ones around.Camaros dominate rustangs stock for stock.

I personally know 2 mustung owners that have blown 2nd gear. One of them did it twice in his '01. The other own is a '01 Cobra

i've watched a few blow out second at the track. most guys i know that own mustangs in my area, that run at the track have trashed 2nd gear. most of them were the earlier 90's models though and late 80's (maybe) oh yeah they were sticks also not auto's (didnt notice if anyone said that yet)

Yep, the '03 Cobra is dominated by Camaros, stock for stock. The '96 Cobra is dominated by '96 LT1s, stock for stock. Life is not that simple.
