That drives one of them there things too. It's incredible and it pops wheelies over everything. He even bunny hops over the median every once in a while.

A stickshift Mach 1 is something to worry about. I heard that the autos are weak, and I personally verified that when I was able to put a car and a half on one.

I ran a 14.0 at 101 many mods ago. No new times since the mods.

Bob Cosby is currently the points leader in the NMRA Factory Stock class, has been featured in magazines for years including last months MM&FF and is a meteorologist in the Navy with many years of service to his country, not to mention a moderator on the Corral. And exactly who in the hell are you?

Re: LT1 lookin shabby, danced on a 5.0

well since people here shed so much light as to how much of a "god" this guy is in the racing world, i guess i owe him some respect. fact is... im a loose person when it comes to humor, the post was more to strike a laugh, than brag about a kill, the guy had a weak stang, and i do know a nicely done cobra will smoke my *** like i never saw coming. a friend of mine has one, and he jumps ahead of me, but not by too much. im not trying to say my car is the fastest Z in the world, but i do think that for the balance between GTs and Z28s, i think its kinda cool knowing the car meant to challenge the GT, smoked his big brother..... just brings a smile to my face if i offended some, im sorry, but the post was meant to be humorous, and people started copping attitudes for nothing. sheesh.... chill guys

Truth be told, I'd rather not have any credentials paraded out in cases like this, and I'm sure no sort of racing "god" or anything else. I'm just a car guy - no different than most others here.

Your post came off sounding like a punk kid who thought talking in ghetto language was cool and would get himself in with "hip" crowd, or whatever it is called these days. I replied in kind. You are, of course, welcome to post whatever and however you wish. It really makes no difference at all to me - except for providing an opportunity to have some fun (at your expense). If I may offer some advice....you'll go farther and do better on these sorts of Forums if you lay off the BackStreet Boys talk. That's just my opinion, but there is a few years of experience attached to it.

FYI...I have nothing at all against anything made by GM (past or present). My previous car was a 99 T/A, I've had 2 other F-bodys (85Z and 74 Formula), and am currently deciding between and 04 Cobra and a used 02/03 Z06.

Be careful out there.

I would go with a nitroused Z06 w/ good tires. They run really well at my track.

OK! For all you who don't know who BOB COSBY IS! He has a MOD MOTOR 01 Cobra that runs in the Factory Stock class of the NMRA! It happens to run 11.50s @117 + mph! (ALL FACTORY STOCK)

I have to give the guy his due! The car hauls ***! I believe it just had a complete factory rebuild on the motor, But from the looks of things this year, He will be walking away with a hands down victory in that class!

THis is not a guy I would want to street race, That car with a 100 shot would take most of the car's on this site!

Compare any year LT1 to a 96 Cobra, ok, maybe a fair race (stock for stock). Compare a 99PLUS GT to any year LT1, not so fair as the newest LT1 is 2years older than the oldest 99GT. That plus would include 04 i guess too. So stock for stock, a 93 LT1 would have a FAIR chance against a 04 GT? Good logic. Compare year to year, model to model.

Example: 93' Z28 to 93 GT
or 96 Z28 to 96 GT (not Z28 to Cobra!, SS to Cobra)
or 97 SS to 97 Cobra and so on and so forth.....

Starting 98, you're dealing with the LS1, so comparing a BRAND NEW GT to a 7-10year old car is not fair. If you want to bring in the new years of the mustang, then pick on the LS1 and then give it respect when it severely humbles your ***.

Rule #1: Life's not fair.

Your arguements have been played out here many, many times in the past, and they are just as lame now as they were then.
