Problem is they don't impress me much.
The 1st is an '03 5 speed with a full exhaust from the manifolds back, a CAI, and some tuning work. I own him with my '07TBSS that's only mod is minor tuning.
The 2nd is a '99 Cobra. The mod list is too long to type, the biggest being 18bs of Procharged boost/w alky injection.
I owned him with my '97z28 last summer, and my new motor is making more power.
#3) You're on a camaro board, you're gonna take heat for being a Ford guy. It's part of the "grudge match" that makes this hobby fun.
Because the car was past the development stage before the f-bodies stopped production. Ford did not know that the Camaro was going to cease to exist.

As for the Trailblazer SS I cannot comment on the GT as I have seen my buddies car identical to mine hit 14.30s at 97 whereas mine is much faster.
I did a little research and he magically gained 6lbs of boost from the actual race to the comment here. Also you have over 20k in you setup

) He knew it was just a matter of time, and has the new shortblock ready to go.As for my 20K? if you include the price of the car. In fact, if you take the car prices into consideration (me 8k, cobra 13k in '03) and add the prices of our mods, it's pretty close. The price of his cams alone covered my head/cam combo, and all of our bolt on stuff is similar, except for my 12-bolt.
My point was, is wasn't even close. I could see him in both mirrors and was still pulling on him when I let off. Honestly, it suprised me. I thought he was gonna kick my ***. I have ridden in the car, and it gets your attention when the boost builds.
Last but not least, the TBSS bone stock went 14.09@101. The guys on trailblazerss.com told me this was slow for a 2wd, even for a stocker. It only had a few thosand miles on it at the time. With the tune deleting torque management it fells MUCH quicker/faster. I would like to get up against a new 3V GT, the tune should have me well into the 13's. Serious bolt ons (convertors, headers, cams, etc.) get these things in the 12's.
I just think it's funny that my familly SUV, used to pick the kids up from school dusts my friend's "hot rod GT"
A TBSS is not a family SUV. It was built with performance in mind. Its like saying the SRT-8 300s are old people cars.
As for cams, LTs and a tune. WOW original. Do the same to the Cobra. It is a better starting platform.

I'm going to stop replying to your comments after this but it is a response to the well if you add this or you add that I can beat car B with car A. It is lame and overplayed. We are talking base cars and you throw out the "well add this".
Go look on svtperformance or ls1.com and even there they will tell you the 99-01 Cobras and the 03-04 Mach1s are a drivers race. Both the Ford and Chevy guys who actually have seen these cars know this. Of course you have the brand loyalists who think "OMG itz can neva loooz" on both sides but these people are blind to the real world. As for the 03-04 Cobra it is a no brainer who is going to win. And with a roots blower on top and about 75hp more it is a BETTER STARTING PLATFORM! If you add a 300 dollar pulley you can add 100hp, can you do that to a ls1? No, that is why it is better to start with a car that has most things already done to it so mod for mod the gains will be greater. The ls1 is a awesome N/A motor but stock to stock the 03-04 Cobra has the edge in a race and the gap widens with modification.

As far as brand loyalty I used to have a mustang GT and was a Ford guy until I drove my first LT1 car. Its been GM ever since. I sold the mustang and bought a firebird and have been beating on ponys ever since.
As far as a better platform,who says, You? Its subjective. You say mustang and I F-body.
No one disputed a Cobra has a ton of power so why you decided to inform me of the perf gap I will never know. I have TONS of friends with Cobras and 2 of them are SC 03's. I have beat my fair share of Cobras in my cam only LS1 without to much of a problem. And they cost twice as much as my car did. Dollar for dollar LSx is still better.
Machs are awsome running cars but do not compare to LSx especially after you start bolting on. No NA ford dont compare to an LS1. Dollar for dollar no car does. The mach can run close with a good driver.
And I dont need to go to LS1.com to ask anything. Im not asking permission to post or think. I know what I see and I see LS1's running consistant low 13's all the time bone stock and have seen a quite a few,including mine,trap 107+ without one mod. None of my friends have managed low 13's in their mustangs.
One of my friends actually got rid of his LS1 and bought a mach and he has been kicking his own *** ever since. He cant better then a 13.7 on street tires in the mach but he consistantly ran 13.2-13.3 in his camaro. And it was bone stock. Not to mentio he was trapping 107 in the Z and 103 in the mach" Can you say Horsepower gap?" Both where manuals.

The thing is the only thing that Ford cares about is the sales. Thats why they make cars in the first place. Since F body was better than Mustang in all the other catorgories you speak of why did mustang out sell camaro and firebird combinded by a 2 to 1 margin?
Style- Like you said, subjective. Alot of people find the 4th gen to be the ugliest F body ever made.
Handling- F body is better but the mustang is still a good handler.
MPG- LS1 may be better but mustang still gets decent gas mileage
Braking- F body is better but mustang has decent brakes
power- Again F body has more power but again mustangs power is sufficent for the majority of the car buying people.
Then theres other things like fit and finish which I feel the mustang is a little better which is more important to the average person than being able to run 13's instead of 14's. Ingress/egress. Alot of people don't like having to get so low to the ground when getting into a F body while getting into a mustang is like getting into any other car. Then theres the huge dash and since the front end seems to drop right out parking takes getting used to. Then working on a 4th gens engine is a major pain in the a** when compared to working a mustang.
Even GM HIGH TECH wrote " the only people who liked the 4th gen were knuckledraggers"
Also no one had a reply about the 600 and 725hp supersnakes.I'd like to see how bad a stock 725hp one would beat a stock LS1. Don't worry Carrol Shelby already has stated that 725hp will only be suffecient for a couple years and the hp will be increased even more. It looks like GM will have to start puting Blowers on their cars too if they want to compete with Ford. You can only make so much power on motor. (look at the upcomimg ZR1 it needs a blower also to make over 600hp)
