That car made 320HP and that's about what the Mach 1s are making right? They're basically the same car but the suspension and gear ratio is different, and that's where the performance differs, in my opinion.

I found that shifting around 6200 - 6300 resulted in the best ET/MPH.
If I shifted at a higher RPM, I always lost mph & increased my ET.
Also, I ran at my local track today & improved my ET/MPH by quite a bit...

Yah you can...I trap 106.04 with a damn 2v......Get some welds on that thing too, ditch those 17's.......
Re: how fast are the mach 1's
03 mach 1 are rated at 305hp with 320 torque stock from factory. a ls1 should beat it stock for stock. if both cars are modded then depends on the driver. its a close race but i think the ls1 should take it. stock ls1 z28 comes with 305hp n 335 torque. those cars sure do looks nice but as for power i would always go with the ls1.

Where are you getting those numbers?????? Mach 1's are rated at 330hp and will wipe the floor with a stock ls1. That 305hp might be for an automatic, but not a stick.
Re: how fast are the mach 1's
What year mach is rated at 330?
And whiping the floor with the mach over an ls1? I haven't witnessed a stock mach at the track run any better than a 13.7. But who knows, maybe I have been to the track when all the guys who didn't know how to drive their machs went.

After calculating % of driveline loss (~15%) that's ~ 332 crank hp & ~ 359 crank tq. Quite a bit higher than the (conservative) factory rating.

MANY other 5-speed Mach 1's have dynoed the same - or higher - than my car BTW. My dyno numbers are probably about average.
Nice that Ford started under-rating their motors like GM did for years...
Re: how fast are the mach 1's
Nice numbers... and to that other guy they were never factory rated at 330 and they won't "wipe the floor with any stock LS1"

If both cars are modded " if mods are same/similar" Its all LS1. LS1's are Unstopable with very few mods they can trap 110 with stock cam/heads/manifolds, running thrue the cats, fairly easy. There is no way your gonna get that in a mach or any n/a Mustang.Mod for mod LS1's go from a minor advantage to a major advantage.
Some mach's are putting down very impressive numbers on the dyno though.Liter for liter they hold their own damn good.

Re: how fast are the mach 1's
Mach's are rated at 305hp for the 03 ( which I own) and 310hp for the 04. Oddly enough there isn't any differences between the two except for the exhaust/cats I believe. Nevertheless, most machs are dynoing around 275-290 hp. The 5 speed transmission (tremec3650) was made more efficent and is supposed to cause less loss of HP than the average trans.
The 2001 Cobra was rated at 330 hp but run slower times because of gears and weight (the IRS) and not to mention horrible wheel hop from a dig.
My mach runs low 13's and a friend of mine ran 13.29 bone stock in his mach. He now has 4.10 gears, CAI,Proflow Mufflers?,DR's and a programmer and ran a best 12.53 @109 mph his last pass. I does seem like the mach's and LS1's are pretty evenly matched. Hell I out ran a formula that runs 12.76 pretty bad 2 weeks ago. 2 from a dig and once from a 25 mph roll. I shouldn't have won but I did. His tires were slick but he knew that before he started talking trash, and wanting to race.

I just trapped 112.35 mph this weekend (short-shifting about 500 rpm too low
) with an entirely stock long-block & no power-adder of any sort. There's a lower ET + higher trap speed in the car just as it sits with the proper shift points.
My only "power" mods are:
Dyno Tune
Cold Air Intake
Cat-Back Exhaust
X-Pipe with catylitic Converters
Mid-Length Headers (I could add long-tubes for more horsepower/torque BTW)
My 15,000 mile '03 4V has never had the valve covers off & the only thing that's changed internally since Ford made it has been the oil.
IMHO, LS1 cars are impressive without a doubt, but they are certainly NOT "unstoppable"...
