how fast are the mach 1's

Ok guys just need to know how fast a stock 04 mach 1 mustang is.

I was running on 7 some times 6 and still beat one by 1 car length.

I burnt the number 5and 7 plug wires on the long tubes it set off the check engine light right before the run.

so are they that slow or am i running that fast.

(havent updated the times since the tracks close here, the times in the 95 are from 2 yrs ago.just a few bolt ons and suspention added since)

Re: how fast are the mach 1's

word is the manual Mach's are comparable to an LS1 fbody given average drivers, with a small edge to the LS1. The autos are dogs by comparison.

I beat a stock manual one twice from a 65-70 roll... we went to about 110-120 had him by a good car or more both times.

Re: how fast are the mach 1's

I ran 13.30s stock. Just add 4.30 gears and flowmaster 40s and hit 12.4s all day long. The Machs can be beat by properly driven and modded LT1s on the street. No arguement there. Just like when mine was stock I placed the smacketh down on 2 LS1 SS Zs at the local track. Young guys in the Zs made my car look fast and thiers slow. In reality the LS1 should have been neck and neck and edging me out in the 1/4 (my opinion)
, But the drivers were not great running 13.57 @ 104 avg times for the SS Zs.
I was averaging 13.4s pretty consistant until the good grip of one pass netted me the 13.35 @ 104

Truth is... MACH 1s are not slow! LT1s are not slow! LS1s are not slow!
Anyone can be beat on any given day, just some times the drivers make thier own car look slower than it actually is.

Re: how fast are the mach 1's

Thanks Antz,

Yeah I hate I sold my LS1 now....lol
I think you can find 99 models used for around $9,000 with fair miles on them.

Machs are coming down in price too , but harder to find and still around $20,000 is the cheapest on the lot Mach Ive spotted.

Ive still got one of my LT1s in the shop , but Im building a 383 stroker and its slow progress because of the lack of funds.

Gas prices going through the roof makes me contemplate getting a hybrid though...(oh my god , shoot me for saying that)

Yea I hear ya on the gas prices...when the time comes ill have my eye out for a 99 Cobra and earlier LS1's, 99's seem to be going for considerbly less then the 01's w/ similar mileage...Love the 99/01 style cobra and in the right hands they perform pretty similar to a Mach

I ran a 2004 one a few times. With just a catback, K&N, and Nitto's he was running 12.8's. Enough to beat me thoroughly at the time.

Re: how fast are the mach 1's

Stock for stock, if both the mach 1 and ls-1's are manuals it is close with the favorite being the ls-1. Both cars also take well to mods. Having owned a cammed/all the bolt ons lt-1, the mach does have an advantage againest them. The lt-1 feels stronger in the low rpms and runs better 60ft. times but the mach 1 wins up top.

Re: how fast are the mach 1's

When i raced my buddys 04 the other nite i put about 2 cars on him and i didnt shift out of second. We were going about 10 MPH, i really dont think he can drive the damn thing. He was probably in second or something stupid.
