Went out with a bud that has a 660 rwhp Mach 1 about 50 miles away to get into some racing.

Found the best place to race in this town...about 1 mile of nice concrete, industrial area and no residents anywhere...had about 4 solid hours of racing there...still can't believe a place like this is around here...it hooks better than some of our crappier tracks.

Anyways...my races....

SRT-4...runs low 13's@107 he said...put an easy 5 cars on him.

03-04 Cobra...tune, upper pulley, cai...never ran it at the track or dynoed. First race I had him by a car with him pulling on me. 2nd race I simply just left better (I can launch well on stock F1's) and put about 3 cars on him and held him there.

On the way home of the highway...

Another 03-04 Cobra...don't know mods or what it runs or dyno's. First race from 60 mph to about 130 mph...he put about 2 cars on my Lightning. 2nd race from a dead stop...he passed me when I was around 130 mph. 3rd race from a 20 mph roll and it took to about 120 mph to get around my Lightning.

A pretty good night of screwing off.

About my bud in his Mach 1...he must have raced the poor car 50 times...poor thing. He made the mistake of racing a couple of guys with LS1's with n2o and good tires. He was pulling them down...but I don't think he beat the guys (or most guys that night). To much boost, no fast enough shifting and junk tires = dyno queen.

sweet, wish i had a place like that around here. old airport area, but cops are all over that.

 

Sounds like a fun night of kills. Wish we had somewhere like that. Went to the drag strip the other night too give it a try and they were closed.

 

I wish the place was not such a haul away...I would organize the thing...get some concessions in...pay of the local popo...get some real money going.
