Actually now that you mention it one of times I went to the local import / sport compact days at the local track the 4 cyclinder Power Adder class went to a Merkur, he was running low 11s, and just humiliated the field, I don't think he lost until The King of the hill where they took all the class winners and runners up, and had one last big head to head race. If I remember right he lost to a Big Boost Supra
That car was crazy fast, and was blowing most everyone else away

So, yes, I am familiar with it, and know that it's a great handling car. You could have saved us from your overly-long post just by clarifying that. If you take a 15 sec car and make it a 13 sec car there is some accomplishment in that, just the way you'd feel if you took your 13 sec car and made it an 11 sec car. If they enjoy to mod and build a different type of make then us, who cares?

The same argument can be said about a Camaro owner by a Viper owner, "Why buy a slow Camaro and mod it to run low twelves when a Viper can do it stock?" It is ALL relative -- remember that. If you want to talk about going fast from your starting point .. The most cost effective way I can think is to take an Late 70s muscle car ( Is that an Oxymoron? j/k lol ), with a tired engine, fix it up put a mean engine in it and run 10s all day long, makes you wonder why we waste our time with Slow 13 sec cars? Well to each his own, my thing is if your going to do something do it with some TACT, and THOUGHT. Rice comes in all flavors and is usually the same to me, whether it be Honda or GM...

Because the older slower Vipers costs at least $35K used and a good used LS1 costs $10K.

cavalier is the daily driver.....its purple and the left fender is busted. i dont care. if i had the money for a viper or a ferrari, id might have one. i mean....after all....i see vipers and ferraris and all kinds of exotics all the time!! not. if i had one, it would just be like all the others. in a garage with 2 miles on it. WHY? because they are so damn expensive!

You lack vision and probably couldnt tell me the strenghts and weaknesses of any other car except your Z and are probably a little nieve in that department too
You car is just a car.....its a Chevy...not a Ferrari...its an F-body....not a GT3 porche
