Which is faster?

No. It actually goes to 180. They are computer limited to 181mph but good luck getting a stock powered one to that. I've had mine at 165 racing a Carrera S but it was hitting a brick wall and mine is not stock.

LOL...
The 305s can be set up to lay down some serious power... the mid-80s IROC Zs were a good example. They flat hauled @$$ in the day... But the 93 Z would crush it like a bug.
So dude could have fully modded his unit with a suitable cam, improved the heads, bolted up a set of headers and such and with a good tune on the carb be close to the 275 BHP of the 93 Lt-1... but I doubt it. The IROC spec'd, if memory serves at well under 200 Bhp, low 190s... So short of a serious snort of the Juice, he's more than likely settled down in the mid to low 200s leaving the fairly stock 93 the hands down advantage... modded, with all things being equal, the 305 is at the clear disadvantage to the LT-1, its a natural torque monster.
BUT! With that said... it's racing man and in racing...
anything can happen; and it usually does.
Like the above member noted... stage up and find out! That's where the fun is anyway.

Did everybody in this thread miss this part? If it's really a Jasper engine, it sure as heck isn't a stock 305. He could have pretty much anything in there. As between a wild-cam, aftermarket-engine 305 in a Monte, possibly with a high stall torque converter, vs. a basically stock, high-mile LT1, my money would be on the Monte.

We were all referencing the speedometers maximum speed listing saying it must be faster because of that, to which I jokingly replied with my car as it has a extremely high top speed listing for what it is. The Caliber SRT4 goes to 180mph. Will a stock one ever get there?........sure, if it was dropped out of a plane.
The stock computer on the Caliber is limited to 181 mph, even though aerodynamics and lack of power take over well before you reach that speed.
