Well I'll be damned - you really can put an LSx into anything!

LOL, nope thats just the way a good running motor sounds, its a completely stock LS1 longblock,stock cam, stock heades, staock manifold. Only mods were some used ebay headers from a camaro and a o'reileys spectre brand air filter.

You must keep in mind I'm racing an LT1.......

Headers = highly modified?

Seriously the ls1 is untouched, in the video of me revving it up it has open headers...right after I got the wiring done... Now with mufflers and new plugs it idles at 600rpms and smooth like it should.

The motor is a 98 LS1 and is the early style with perimeter bolt valve covers. Heads do not flow near as well as the later ls1 heads

I read the replies too fast I though you said it had an upgraded cam

now that you made the conversion when is the stroker LS2 going in?

Most likely will not stroke this engine , I do plan to finish the bolt-ons and see where that gets me I found a good deal on a ls6 manifold..$100 and also I would like a underdrive pulley.

I mainly want this truck to be a daily driver with the ability to run mid-high 13's

I'm going to the track next friday to see where its at now.

That's what I here; the open headers and it sounded a little off. I bet it sounds much improved with the new plugs and mufflers on. A lt1 should have killed you from a stop though, I have seen many stock ls1 fbody's vs stock lt1 fbody's and the lt1 pulls ahead in the start then the ls1 usually wins in the end. What trans and rear gears are you running in the truck. That is a fast truck any way you look at it though. I would like to see you run a new dodge ram 5.7
