Talking Driver mod FTW

So I'm driving back to work after lunch today, and I notice a little ways back in the lane next to me a '99-04 Mustang GT with Flowmaster stickers in the window, and an exhaust note indicating that the car was so equipped. I've seen his car in the area before, so I'm pretty sure he's from around here.

I was driving my 1993 Buick Regal winter beater, which has bald tires and a 170hp 3800 V6.

So I see him accelerate as if to get ahead of me. I feel like making him work for it (and I like hearing a nice exhaust note once in a while), so I floor it. He lets off before getting up next to me, and we both coast up to a red light, side by side. He looks over at me, and then quickly looks straight ahead as soon as I make eye contact with him. I'm laughing the whole time, and assuming I'm going to get my butt kicked.

A couple seconds before the light turns green (you can tell when it's coming based on the left turn arrow), his car rolls back about a foot, which tells me his car is a 5-speed. I mash the brake pedal and stall my Regal up to about 2000 rpm.

The light turns green, and I absolutely smoke him off the line amidst a bit of wheelspin on my part. I must have pulled two cars on him right away. I hear his exhaust roar, and he started gaining.

I let off at 50mph (speed limit 45), and then he passed me, still at WOT.

So, like I said, driver mod FTW.

Nope, it's a normal hood.

I paid $950 for the Buick.

The 1989 LeSabre I have listed in my sig (my winter beater) does that. I bought it from my grandpa for $ 700. Pretty nice little car, doesn't make you want to speed or drive like a jack-*** or anything, unlike the Camaro.

its all about the small mods to make more power....ripped out the drooping headliner, tore off teh driver's door arm rest due to sheetrock screws no longer holding it on!!

kbb value for it i think was $300...in good shape

it was donated by my GF when she got a jeep...its our battle wagon now...great for lugging dive gear and fishy coolers around in!

How proud can you be when you don't know how to spell LeSabre?

Wait... are you standing on the car so that you can reach, or are you ramming the tree trunk so that the coconuts fall?

I've stood on mine before...

I've also pushed things with the bumper.

As far as utility, I'd say my Regal is on about the same level as my lawn tractor. Guess which was more expensive?
