Cobra got beat

And I feel the pot needs stirring... I fully expect this thread to be booming this summer
you know what irritates me a little... no matter how much we mod, cars are getting ridiculously fast from the factory, it can be tough to keep yourself ahead.. luckily safety regs are causing newer cars to weigh a little more... that's about our only advantage

Thanks.
Waiting for better weather to hit the dyno. Stock heads are gonna hurt me, plus I am using exhaust manifolds on this kit... I would guess 550rwhp @ 12-14psi. That should be enought to play with a low boosting KB car or an eaton car with a 100 shot.
Next up is a set of heads and I'll fab a PT88 kit (hopefully by the fall).

That will be quite a toy!
No track times yet either?

if you didn't want to get into it then why did you comment on it?????
an 08 GT is roughly a 13.7 to 13.8 car on average
a 97 SS was roughly the same when they were brand new... so how am I wrong???
not to mention that the 305hp and 335tq the SS was putting out is more than an 08GT in both categories

Street racing is for guys who are afraid to be humbled by reality (the track.)

Figure you're going to need to be able to trap at least 130 to "kill" them. Otherwise you need to set your car up hook and don't go from a roll. Even then those cars hook unusually well.

I come back months later and even the Chebbie lovers are pissing and moaning at each other? WTF is up with you?
You have the new 2010 CamaroHO. It's the holy grail
Ok back to the scheduled program.....

Ehhh, 550 to the wheels might get a low boosted KB car (14 lbs or so) but it would be real close. Pullied/Ported Eaton cars will dyno just north of 500 without the spray. 100 shot on top of that will put them better than 19lbs KB cars with a "kill" tune. Average boosted KB cars (19 lbs) will put down anywhere from 580-620 depending on the tune.

My experience says a little differently but in all honesty I really do hope that you lay some smack down on those guys. It kinda sucks that my circle of friends all have Termi's. However is does give me insight to know what it takes beat 'em. Generally, for the 19 lbs KB or sprayed Eaton car, the AVERAGE times @ the track are 10.80's @ 128. Shoot for better than that I'd say you've got a shot.
Regardless, happy hunting and when you do get that kill let us know so I can relay the info. appropriately.

I hear ya, thanks for the info. Hopefully the stock heads/cast manifolds don't hurt me too much. I had a customer run 10.8 @ 128mph with a T76 @ 11psi with stock LT1 top end (stock heads/cam/intake). We'll see... I got to get this thing to the dyno.
