The Cobra would out do it in the quarter. Add the pulley and it out do it by alot. Same engine..........different cams. Motor to motor the Mach 1 will smoke the Cobra. (thats without the Super charger) If I am not mistaken the redline on the Mach1 is at 6800 rpm.

its simple really.anything altered from how it left the showroom to enhance performance in anyway makes this vehicle no longer stock.

there are exceptions such as dealer or manufacturer upgrades offered after a vehicle leaves the factory.

I hear you about the stock comment.........But you have to admit.......a cat back is nothing more than new mufflers and tail pipes. Its helps.....just not that much. At least I was honest enough to qualify No the nittos and slicks are not stock...........but they do not make the car faster............they just help put the traction to the pavement. Its still the factory form motor doing the work. I am a die hard GM guy. But I do give credit where credit is due. I have always thought the Mustangs were turds from the factory. Now they have one that is very impressive. I would still take an LS1 over that mod motor anyday.

No traction and bad driver mod. As stated earlier.......if both drivers are equal and cars have equal mods. Not sure who would win.

LS1's running the same 60's where running better numbers . The fastest one I seen ran a 13.7 w/2.1 60 . I ran that with a 2.4 bone stock . I think some will run better then others . But the typical numbers for the mach 1 are not going to be as low as I thought they would be . They are nice cars , Im not knocking them . Im just basing this off what I have seen . They are slightly better then the GT .

I hear you..............but all the ones I see run with good drivers.........there is no comparison to the GT's. GT's are slow. I still wonder what gm is going to replace the camaro with? I hope its not a mod motor.

I hope not . I like classic pushrod power . They built such an efficient Engine as a pushrod " LS1 series " I dont think they need to do any drastic engine desighning . They have the best V8
platform ever . They can build from there .

MMFF got a 13.57 at 102.xx as it's best for a Mach 1 that day!? That is crappy for them. Must have been a bad track, bad weather, or a slug of a car. They have gone 13.1 in stock Mach 1s before. Even Motor Trend got a 13.2 at 106.xx out of a stock Mach 1! I will check out the article and see what went wrong. MMFF could only muster a 13.2 out of a stock '02 LS1 SS 6-speed one day. That was against the '03 Cobra. Stock for stock with equal drivers, I still say the LS1 is faster than the Mach by a about 3 tenths and 3 mph.

The '03 Cobra doesn't quite have the same motor as the Mach I does. The Cobra's has an iron block and the Mach I's has an aluminum block. I think Ford went with the iron block so the motor could handle serious boost.

Does anyone here know if SVT makes the Mach I motor and is it hand built if SVT doesn't make it?

Yeah , Id say if the drivers dont utilize the RPM band , they wont get the Potential times from these cars . The sticks should be some damn good cars , running mid 13's . I got to wait for my litle cam install for that kind of RPM range .

Yeah, but you've got lots of low end torque compared to a n/a 4.6. Low end torque is big fun!

The Mach 1 and new Cobras definatly deserve some respect. I've seen a few Mach 1's dyno 270-280rwhp bone stock off the showroom floor. I kinda like the look of them too. Especially the retro style wheels.
