Bmw

Well I was headed back from my g/f's house on a two lane road the other night & caught the traffic light. There's a little less than a 1/4 mile stretch of road before the next light. So I look in my mirror & see headlights changing lanes to get next to me. When I looked over I was'nt sure if it was an M3 or one of those other BMW models with the same body style. So light goes green & I begin to accelerate moderately, waiting for him to go first. Then he took off & got a small jump on me. I went full throttle a split second after him & my front bumper was at his rear bumper. I gave it all I had to stay with him & started catching him ever so slowly. When we braked for the next light I had just about caught up. I talked to the guy at the light & found out it was an M3. Then I asked him if he wanted to go again & he said ok. This time I managed a really good launch & stayed ahead of him from the start. Then all of the sudden he's like 3 car lengths behind me. So I braked & he came up next to me & said he missed a gear. I was a little disapointed, but cool guy & a fun race non-the-less. I did'nt ask him what year it was, but I think it was mid-late 90's. Anyone know the performance specs on these cars? Sorry it was so long!

Nice kill! Those cars really start to scream on the top end, that is were you have to watch out for them.

A mid to later 90's M3 is a solid low 14s car. Late 90's to early 2000s are about a 1/2 second faster. I don't know exactly where the breaks occured, but if I remember correctly, the M3 1/4 mile performance pretty closely matched the Fbody performance year for year.
