Here goes I was driving(cruising) around looking for something to do when a 97 z28 auto vert(just slp loudmouth, cold air intake, and DR's not sure what kind) pulled up and dropped a rev on me. I talked to the guy a little while and he asked me if I wanted to run him I said why not. So we go to an old abandoned road that has the 1/4 mile distance marked and line them up. I start to bring up my RPMs and so does he. we get flagged down to go and he immediately gets the jump on me (due to my inexperience launching my car and tire spin)I spin my tires a lot of the start but by second gear his 1 1/2 car lead on me stays and I began to start catching up and by the top of second and into third hes got about a fender on me. Then all of a sudden I start to pull on him and by the end I beat him by about 1/2 a car. I raced him again with the same result but i beat him by about 1 1/2 to 2 cars because I was able to hook up of the launch. He was suprised with my top end because of the lead he had on me in about halfway down the track.

Same night, same spot this time its a black ls1 99 z28 m6(great looking car) with supposedly(a cam, headers, lid, and a catback setup and a lowered suspension with some pretty good size tires in the back he had the z06 rims I think they were wider than mine which are stock). I ask this guy if he can launch his car good and he says yeah So im feeling a little bit nervous about this race, Im basically expecting to lose but I say what the hell. We line our cars up and get the signal to go I get a pretty good launch and thats alls it took held the lead and beat him by about two cars. The 99z28 even raced the 97z28 and the 97z won. So i take it the guy in the 99 didnt have these mods or he didnt know how to launch his car or both. The owner of the 99 had just bought his car about three weeks prior so he probably was just told this info of his mods by the previous owner.

Later on that night we all pulled up in an empty parking lot right next to the main cruising street and talked and hung out for a while. It was was pretty cool to have 3 fbodies all together.

I must have to note I had an exhaust leak or something wrong with my car its in the ls1 tech section.
