Beat a built 3rd gen
A friend of mine has a 84 Z28 with the following mods (from his sig on thirdgen.org):
"I have worked over pro top lines, Edelbrock rpm air gap intake, demon 750 ts carb, Headman headers true duals v force muffler , 350 bored 40 over, Flat top pistons, 10 to 1 compression, comp cam xe274-h10, perform electric water pump, dual electric fans, aluminum power steering pump
fiberglass big block hood removed entire hvac system, removed radio-speakers, removed carpet padding, removed cruse system, and removed most unneeded wiring.
700r4, 2300 stall, Transgo shift kit, Posi rear end, 343 gears"
My car is in my sig.
Anyways we go to the highway, 3 honks from 10mph, I beat him by a car to about 120. We did this twice, both with the same results. I had about 200lbs more passenger weight than he did.

I bet you have got no idea how much power a LS1 WS6 makes do you?? The WS6 (I believe) has 345 hp and the 350 TPI makes 240 so you've got 105 hp to make up...Considering the WS6 and SS Camaro's were low 13s to extreme high 12s stock, That 3rd Gen has a HELL of a lot to catching up to do, even if it's built

Ok I am gonna put this real simple.
A 155hp 305, combined with a cam, full bolt ons and the stock head ported/5-angle'd/shaved, will produce (depending on a lot of things, of course) anywhere from 320-360hp.
A TWO HUNDRED and fourty five hp TPI, combined with a cam and full bolt-ons? Well ****.. the possiblities are endless. Check out the third gen section. TONS of bolt-on L98's producing 380-420+hp. Combine that with a car thats much lighter than a fourth gen and you've got an LS1 killer.
