Another stang bits the dust...
My Mach1 ran 13.39 bone stock and never once had trouble with a stock LT1 of any kind. I went 4.30 gears and flowmaster muffs and ran 12.97
My LT1 stock would turn 14.00s all day.
Now that my LT1 is modified the story is a wee bit different.

An even more intellengent post. Not everyone is brand specific like you. Price differance? Yea, its called one car is 10 yrs. newer then the other, some people like newer cars. Whats next ford needs FI to hang right? Ive owned 4 4th gen. fbodies and have driven numerous mustangs and the build quality is not even close, Blue Oval wins hands down. If thats the case Ill pick up a 5.0 stang for a grand or two and have a modfest. Look at Mikie's, he doesnt have much in that car at all and it can easily hang w/ LT1's.
Wait are you talkin about mikies 93 lx, or the mach 1? Cause the 5.0 are called 5.slow for a reason. All what 215 horses? Well if thats the case, newer cars, lets roll out the 02 ss. Taking a 2000+ mach 1 against a stock lt1 is like me taking my stock lt1 against a stock 74 camaro z28. Age matters. So does price. Not everybody can go out and buy a 20 grand rustang, for the cost, the camaro will always win. Even in 09, when the camaro re enters the earth, and destroys the mustang sells, ford will yet again have to make a desperate attempt to not go bankrupt like they already have.

And dude, I never said the ford couldnt hang. I actually said the exact opposite, the mach 1 would have its way with a stock lt1. Seems Mr. intellectual can't read! Hooked on phonics works great for my son, maybe you too can try it!
Last time I was at the track I saw a rare occurance...a bone stock LT1 running and it was 14.3's@96 mph.
A little off...the weather was miserable.
He was quite surprised to see my wife's stock 06 Mustang running 13.7's@103 mph being he wanted to race it.....
My LT1 ran 14.08@99.16 in good weather....all of my bud's cars ran similar....
I have a bud with a 5.slow....ran 11.69@129 mph last time out....really slow.

Im talkin about his 5.0 in the 13's w/ a very limited mods. Yea those little 215 hp 1987 technology 5 liters are slow. Mr. hooked on phonics has a question though, WTF are you talking about here?
Since you brought up the 02 SS please explain why I still see a alot of 02 SS's well in the 20's, some still high 20's. Terminator Cobra's are in the mid 20's and will kill it stock for stock and mod for mod. Mach's are newer, run similiar and can be found for high teens low 20's.
News flash the Fbody went under because it didnt sell and Im seeing more mustangs then ever. Sorry bud but the fbody will never outsell the stang. I love both brands but your obvious disfavor for ford is making you dillusional.

Thats the thing, I don't disfavor ford. The GM just makes a better product. I was raised around fords. Torinos fairlanes, galaxys, you name it. I just have my own opinion, just like you. The reason you still see 02 SS's in the high 20's is because they hold their value, something the mustang has none of (value). Which is why you see more mustangs than ever. But none the less, the mach 1 is a nice car, I was just saying that bang for the buck, the camaro wins. My best friend used to have a 03 cobra with around 600 at the wheels. Cool car, I'm just a chevy guy!
But I have to thank you for making my day a lot more enjoyable. I hope we can get past this little tiff, and be friends. Let me know if you need help with anything! Or mustang parts, my buddy has a lot of ford hookups.

You gotta have faith man! Just like my college football team... The Louisville Cardinals, started the season at #5, now arguably one of the worst teams in the NCAA! But we still cheer them on everyweek!
My 93 has cold air intake, upper & lower Cobra intakes, full exhaust, 3.55 gears, electric fan conversion and lightening of the load ...so to speak.
We are headed out to the track this weekend to test the new weld wheels and see if I can get any lower than a 13.48 @ 106, which is what mine ran last time out.
Every one is intitled to their opinion and welcome to express it here. Hopefully bow tie, you will learn that not all Mustangs can be grouped together, just as any make of vehicle. Last time out I raced a 96 stang with an AOD and absolutely half tracked the guy. These type drivers/stangs are what gives others impressions that we are all slow.

Like I said, the fox body is the only one I would consider... I said stock 5.0s are horribly slow, especially the post fox bodys. Thats what is so great about the fox bodys, it doesnt take much to make them respectable. Nothing against you man! And good luck!
I'm a Chevy guy but when I saw the Mach I had to own one.
They are a close match up with the SS's. I only raced one LS 1 SS and I beat it from a roll. We raced 3 times. It was a manual and I'm an auto.
But from a dead stop my guess is I'd win some and lose some.
They are both great cars. I've had a lot of fun in the Chevy and Ford.
My quickest 1/4 in the automatic 100% stock Mach is 13.6 @ 104. I'll mod it maybe one day.
I have not timed the IROC since the crate install. It's probably going to be low 13's.
