Tell me about it! My vette with the bolt ons below already ate up 1 tranny and 1 rear end. It's now in need of it's second tranny! I swore to my wife I'd never buy another GM after I sold the vette. Then I saw the GTO the other day Room for the whole family and 350 hp sounds pretty sweet....just gotta make sure it has a warranty

As far as GM VS Ford in build quality, each one has their highs and lows. Look at the Mustangs rear end, but lack of power (Cobra not included) Then look at an LS1 with power, but lack of a strong rear end. Who decided to put this garbage rear end in these things anyway? He needs to be shot.

I like that Mach 1 comment, hinting at the SLP/WS6 options...that was actually kinda funny.

Exactly! Give me the choice between an n/a car and an f/i car and I'll take the f/i car any day of the week! The motors are built to handle forced induction and picking up extra ponies is sooo much easier.

This is one of the dumbest statements ever on this board. Ford didn't "have" to do anything. They chose to do a 4.6 blown motor. Just like GM chose to do a 5.7 n/a motor. Either company could have put almost any motor in either car if they wanted to bad enough.

Like I said this turned into a pissing contest so I added to it. My last reply to this thread was as worthless as the rest of yours. This is starting to be pretty funny

In my HUMBLE opinion, YOU CANNOT talk smack and say this car spanks that car, UNLESS ITS SITTING IN YOUR DRIVEWAY. People are starting to sound like a bunch of Supra worshiping Civic owners. NEXT.

Just trying to let the misinformed fbody owners out there know that 500 bucks is on the low side. I can see 430-440rwhp for 500, but will take mor ethan a pulley and CAI to get 500rwhp. I met a guy who dynoed 485rwhp with full exhaust, pulley, injectors, tuning, CAI.

I said 500HP.... NOT RWHP

I'm sharp enough to know that I won't make 500RWHP with 500 dollars.

500HP at the crank should not be unrealistic with 500 bucks.

Besides, I would not want 500rwhp. I like my stock wheels and tires and it would be like driving in the rain all the time.

If you can not measure crank HP how would you prove it? With $500 what ET would you run and what rwhp? I see a lot of the 03 Cobras posting about rwhp numbers but not ETs.

500hp in a 3650lbs car should = 118ish MPH which is more than enough to put you DEEP into the 11's given proper traction

Goes to show how much hp the cobra needs cuz of the weight. It seems cobras need 500rwhp to trap 120mph, where fbodies need 420-430rwhp.

A stock hardtop Cobra weighs about 3670 lbs. Stock LS1 6M hardtop about 3400, stock LT1 6M hardtop about 3450. You must be talking about full weight Cobras and lightened F-bodies.
