98z vs. 03 cobra
Have you guys not read the entire thread? A few pages back, Steve Y asked why Fbodies with EQUAL hp to the Cobra are trapping better. This is not a discussion about stock Cobra vs. stock LS1....we all know who wins that battle. We're talking about area under the curve for a STOCK Cobra vs. a 390 hp LS1. EQUAL HP CARS ONLY

While I appreciate the time you took to list the numbers.....you missed the entire point of the discussion
For some reason I can't click your links, but what were trying to do is compare area under the curve for a 390 (or maybe 360 rwhp is more applicable)hp LS1 and a STOCK (390 HP) Cobra in order to determine why the Fbody traps higher at the same hp levels. Dyno charts of stock LS1's and modded Cobras don't help.
I don't know what a terminator is, but I do know I made more rwtq than the stock Cobra listed above....that's all I was saying
I was just surprised to see that my little v6 with $600 invested in it made as much rwtq as a 390 hp blown V8. That's

btw, i don't think your lil v6 put more torque than a terminator

the 03 cobra would win base on price/performance

"Yellow vette was talking about the graph with 2 engines with the SAME hp"
Exactly.
370 to the wheels and only a 13.2? LOL. I don't know....sounds like me in my old Supra...only I had 440rwhp! I'm relatively new to the 300 and I've never been to the track with it....with their wheel hop problems it just doesn't seem like a good car for track flogging IMO. From what I've seen on TT.net, my car should run low 13's-high 12's at around 110. What did your friend trap? 60' time?

A cobra wwith thois mods has more HP obviously . You are using a 450HP dyno vs a 390 HP dyno . A blower VCobra with tuning , Cai , exhaust, and whatever VS a LS1 with a cam and headers
.
We all know the Cobra has More HP . Thatsa point that dont need to be made . Well , I take that back , there are still a few out there that refuse to aknowledge its great power and potential .
BTW , yellowvette , what kind of times is the 300 putting down . One of my best friends had a 300ZTT that dynoed 370 to the wheels and it would not and could not break a 13.2 ...Have no clue why ! It ran fine ." It was an auto though "

That's the beauty of forced induction plus a DOHC engine. Lots of top end. If you find a cammed LS1 that's not falling off up high, it'll probably have less low end. Usually it's a trade off isn't it? I've never seen a stump puller with a monster top end.

MaruiSSio, we all know that the Cobra comes with more HP. We were trying to figure out why a LS1 with similar peak RWHP seems to trap/ET better. No matter if it is 450rwhp or 360rwhp.
I took MaruiSSio's numbers above and compared them to a 362rwhp Firehawk with the following mods:
-Ported Throttle Body
-Descreened MAF
-MSD Wires
-NGK Plugs
-QTP Stainless Headers
-QTP Merge Collectors
-QuickTime Electric Cutout
-QTP Off-road Y-pipe
-Speed Inc Dynotune
-------LS1---03 Cobra-------
RPM HP HP Dif
3000 190 195 -5
3400 235 225 +10
4000 275 268 +7
4400 315 293 +22
5000 350 326 +24
5400 360 348 +12
6000 355 364 -9
6200 350 366 -16
6300*** 362
Interesting numbers. As the stock LS1 cam dies off earlier the Cobra continues to make power. I'll try to find a similar rwhp dyno with a cam that extends the RPM range.
This is using the following dyno. The differences in the red and blue line are the tuning:
