mt LT1 is pretty even with LS1s with same mods. ive raced 3 different LS1s and all been pretty close, came down to the drivers.

Why do you think my car which dyno'd 330hp(errr did some tuning after dyno so it could be alittle higher) to the wheels, beat an 01 mustang with full exhaust and a vortec blower on at 9 psi oh and im a mile above sea level also.
Not sure but your stall and his stall are day and night.. Plus your running a 355, Overton cam, plus Longtubes etc, etc. Your average blown 2 valve isnt exactly a power monster, depending on who's opinion your going by...W/ your mods and depending on his set up/ tune/driving ability you guys are probably alot closer hp then the 2 cars in discussion here. Plus anything can happen in a race...Sorry but a mild stalled bolt on LT1 (w/ shorties) isnt beating or coming close to a full exhaust LS1 anyday of the week w/ competent drivers.

Congratulations to everyone here that is arguing lol. Its all so funny. FACT: I raced an LS1 and it took him till about 90mph to pass me AND he did get a decent launch. You all can call BS and whine and complain but thats what happened. So either way it doesnt matter, that was the race, and those were the results. I guess next time i just wont post...

It's possible that the LS1 had 2.73's... that might explain it...

emission laws can kill HP, but on the other hand some places need them. where i live in texas we have no emission in my county. very few of the fast F- cars around here have cats on them. im running long tubes to a flowmaster on my 96. with the cut out open i dyno'd 25 more hp (no tunning)
needless to say the cutout stays open

25hp?! If you ever get tired of the cutout, you should think about getting a better-flowing catback.

I agree thats why i keep the cutout open. im running hooker lt's mufflex y pipe into a flowmaster... the flowmaster is the first thing i bought for car just to get some sound out of it. they arent known for making hp on the f-cars.. one of these days i'll get something better.

WS6's dont come w/ 273's

No ones calling BS on your story, I just dont want how one race turned out to mislead you.
I think its obvious that I can easily hang with a stock one. One with full exhaust will creep on me
You probably could hang w/ a stock one (auto that is) til around 100, but believe me a full exhaust LS1 will do more then "creep" on you w/ either tranny.

Nice race man don't let this stuff get to you. Be proud of your LT1 and if you select the right mods when building your car it will be the LS1's trying to hang with you.

Re: 97 TA vs. 01 WS6

Sorry antz....i just dont like people trying to call bs. Which i didnt pay enough attention to see that you weren't. Nor did i pay enough attention to the guys mods(2500 stall, shorty headers).

Anything can happen on the street and i think tires make a huge diff espesially on the bottom end...he said the ls1 finally passed him at 95. And the kid being 16 or whatever prolly couldn't drive too well. My bro is 17 and he cant drive for **** although he did manage the time in sig. Oh and no he isn't a rich kid(bro) he works everyday after school and pays 150 bucks amonth on his car.

Re: 97 TA vs. 01 WS6

Because ... Dont you know that an LS1 is unbeatable ... With bolt ons they trap 1.293482 X Speed of Light. Lt1's are slow pieces of **** now ...

I rode in a LS1 before I bought mine and I can definatly say without doubt that I would put my car up against any stock or mildly modded LS1's (Lid, Catback)
