9 second geo metro
Re: 9 second geo metro
Relax. The car is mine and no-one has ever come up to me red faced after I beat them. I've lost races too you know. It's just a fun car, I get ALL positive feedback from people that see it in person.
The car is 100% street legal save for the slicks. The body work and some interior carpeting will be done this winter so it's more comfortable to drive in, the tin interior is too noisy, besides another 50-100#'s isn't going to slow me down too much. It will go 8's next year, the car hasn't had the benefit of suspension tuning or convertor correction. The video you saw didn't use nitrous either.
It amazes me when people talk **** about it on these boards. "It's not really a Geo". Who gives a **** what you think from 1000 miles away. Come see it in person if you really want to appreciate it. I'm a friendly guy, I don't make threats (I'm a happily married Christian with a couple of little drag racers in the nest at home.) The people who've gone to the trouble of building their own cars (more than a lid and headers) are the people who really appreciate it.
It has the stock dash that even partially is functional. The door panels are also stock and the doors have the factory impact bars in them. It also has a really small cam (206 roller) and a full muffled exhaust (which it always races with) so it idles nice and is very docile. It's not much of a sleeper with the 28 X 11.5 ET Drags out back though.

Re: 9 second geo metro
There used to be an old geo around here in the saint louis area with a big block(rumored to be a 454) in it that was good for 9's. Haven't seen him in a long while, though, I wonder if he wrecked it... or if this is the same guy? Either way the car screamed and was fun as hell to watch.
