Question NitrousOxide and My Geo Metro

I was going to put this in the Lounge (mods feel free to move it there if you want) but i decided i would go where the bulk of the experience is. Having said that, onward to my question.

I, well my very good friend rather, have a 2000 Chevy/Geo Metro LSi with the 1.3 Litre 4-banger engine in it. after reading this article Neon + Juice we got to thinking about putting a 50 shot of n2o on the metro. we would follow the same general setup as the guys in the neon and do it just for the heck of it. we got the car for dirt cheap so if we wreck it we wont be out too much if we have to rebuild the engine.

Do you guys think the car/Drivetrain/Engine can handle the shock of a few N2O runs at the local track?

Thanks for taking the time to read/Awnser such an obscure question!

THANKS,

It should handle a few 50 shots as long as it has enough fuel. My friend with his 1.8L turbocharged jetta is running a 50 shot, and he is running 21lbs of boost. You SHOULD be fine. He goes through a 15 lb bottle a week, and it is a 50 shot for a 4 cyl. takes a lot of shots to do that. He is also extremely good friends with the local service manager for VW so if his motor goes bye bye, it is still under warranty. He hasn't had a problem yet though. Have fun with it.

I'd tape a fuel pressure gauge to the windshield to make sure that the fuel pressure doesn't drop when you hit the squeeze. Also, start out with something smaller like a 25 shot if you can find the right jets. You would also need to find out the fuel pressure the car runs at to put the correct jets (assuming a wet shot)..

Well aram we are going to do the same setup as the guys in that link i posted. we are going to use the windshield washer fluid resrivoir to hold the enrichment alchol and have a separate elcheapo inline fuel pump from napa run to it and then hook it up to the fogger nozzle from there.

thanks for the replies

That's not a bad idea if you think the car doesn't have enough fuel pump. If you think it does then just get fuel from the test port like any other wet nitrous kit..

Well the problem is that i dont really know if the car has the extra pump strength to be up to the task of a fogger kit. im going to look into it and see because heck it would be cheaper to do it that way!
Thanks,
