2 gts and a ls1!

I just finally got my longtubes running right well neways i got into a couple races lastnight, first was a 99gt with exhaust, intake and it was a M5 well it was at a red light we both had
street tires lol,I let him get the jump he spun split second later i hit it and spun sideways i spun a half block lol and i was passing him had 4 cars on him before the next redlight ... he gave me thumbs up and smiled and drove off..Next was my buddys 98 trans am with 3700 stall,323 gear, longtubes,ORP,CUtout, lid,tb bypass, we both hit hit at 50 mph i pulled a car on him pretty quick then started slowly walking him to around 80 then shut off because of traffic , he was impressesed with my open long tubes ... next was a 96gt with loudmouth exhaust, gears,Xpipe, another redlight we both hit it i hooked up a lil better and put 4 or 5 cars until 60 mph, he gave me thumbs up and turned off .....Btw my car was running 13.1 at 102 .. before the long tubes.. still waiting for my valve spring so i can install my cam

Nice kills. You're cars running fast with no more mods than you have. Hows that SLP stall holding up?

13.1 @ 102??? That seems awfully hard to believe w/ your mods...

If you don't mind me asking, what was your 60ft on that run??

Good Kills..

With a good 60 foot that is easily attainable.
I only had CAI, 3.73s, shift kit , exhaust and programming and I was running almost 102 on street tires with a best ET of 13.6.
2.2 sixty foots.

I didn't say the mph sounded off, it's the ET that doesn't add up.

My '96 Z went a 13.62 @ 102 bone stock.

I guess it "possible" that with gears and stall the ET COULD pick up that much, but I would think the mph would be a little more...

Just seems a little off...

BTW, the best 60 I had running that 13.6 was a 2.0 on radials.

I would think that for him to be running .5 faster with just gear/stall, he would have to be getting AT LEAST 1.80-.81ish, at least...

And the MPH still seems off...

13.1 at 102 doesn't seem off if you ran a 12.7 at 105.

You raced a LS1 from 50 mph to 80 mph? Dude that wasn't a race but rather a brief tap of the gas. It would take me about one second to go from 50 to 80 since it kicks down to 2nd nicely even in my A4 and pulls very hard.

I'm not trying to be a dick but that sounded a bit off to me. Good luck with your cam, you should have some real nice slips after that goes in and gets tuned.

More like 2-3 seconds minimum, but we get your point.

you beat a LS1 with open headers? stock LT1s make no power with open headers. i call buuuulllllllll shiiiiit

2nd... you pulled a 1.8 60 with 18 psi DRs..... notice the radial in drag radial.... theyre not supposed to be deflated, radials will run just on the edges of the tire when deflated making the contact patch tiny, they dont stay flat and wrinkle like slicks do, youd have way less traction then a properly inflated tire...

come on dude, you quickly jumped on a modded LS1 from a roll, then proceeded to walk on him... all with the absence of torque from open long tubes....

yea open long tubes sounds tight, but a stock LT1 would be lucky to hit a high 14 with open LTs

i say bolt on your exhaust then race someone and talk about it, and quit bench racing

UM DRs hook better at high pressure?
Open LTs make an LT1 run 14s?
maybe you better rethink those statements.

Hey man do you know anything about lt1's, i have beat a many ls1's espically at the track and as far as nittos try to hook on them with 35 pounds get a clue man this not your honda that im driving, I have raced a many ls1s at the track and have beat many but have been beat, do you want my friend with the Ls1 to verify the race? we will race again and post the video, open headers and my mods still dont equal to ls1 lol , i ran a 13.1 before the headers I prolly gained 20 to 30 horsepower with the headers and i might be in the 12's ....as far as high 14's with long tubes get a clue man don't come in here flaming on Lt1's with your ignorance...

Does SLP make a loudmouth for a 1996 GT? I thought they were GM only I have been beaten by two LT1 cars, one was all bolt ons and Heads/cam, and the other was bolt ons with major suspension work. What is the fastest bolt on LT1? I thought it was 12.7, if you are into that range then you are doing damn good!
