Cool 02 Trans AM vs. 350Z

Hello everyone I've got a question for ya. My fire chief has an 05-06 350Z M6 and wants to race my 2002 Trans am A4 vert. We're both stock.

Everyone at my work says that I don't know what I'm messing with, and that I will be beat by 4-6 cars lengths. Even though I have a weight disadvantage I think I would edge him out.

Has anyone else raced a Nissan like that? If I had a hard top I'm sure I would stomp a mud-hole in him.

If you had the hardtop, or some mods done then you would walk him. But I don't think your going to pull him hardly at all, if you even do .. you might lose. Going to come down to the drivers, and who knows their car better.

Been doing some research on the 350Zs

Weight 3247

Time: 13.98 @ 102
Adjusted time : 13.56

It was a racing site so I guess these are pretty experienced Racers but the ones I came across I walked over.....Drivers Race I guess if these times are right....

Vert 02 TA....3650lbs

Times : 13.40s.....

SCREW THE NUMBERS.... U GOT EM

Bwa ha ha - I don't think the Z has a chance. You have the "hottest" version of the LS1, and even though it's an auto convertible, it should beat the hell out of the 350Z. Keep the wheelspin down at launch and you should walk right by him.

That's the kind of person I enjoy "educating" in my family sedan

Yep, I thought I would have a better chance than they acted. I know that the're quick cars. I get tired of hearing that anything DOHC and japanese are amazingly fast.

I was at a light this morning I pulled up next to a Ram SRT10. Man, I was excited. We both hit it at about the same time, I hooked up pretty damn good and pulled away while he was still spinning the tires. We shut down at about 70 but it was fun though. He would have probly beat me in the 1/8th though if he hooked up.

How would a RamSRT10 do vs. aFord Lightning

I have raced a convertible SS (don't know anything about it but it seemed stock) and it kept up with me better than my friend's bolt-on 350z

My friend raced this guy with a 350Z in our area with his '96 TA ... said they were pretty even, but my buddy's car can't hook worth $h!t (lowered, and hard street tires). I raced the same guy with the 350Z, and it was no contest!! Your LS1 will rip him a new one .

Everyone is saying you'll lose because you're not the fire chief and probably have no clue what each car can do.

His car is the 300HP version I think, so it'll be pretty close, but I definitely give the nod to you.
