01 intimidator ss vs 03 cobra svt

I personally, own a 2000 z28, but my boss recently purchased a 2001 intimidator ss # 39 of 83....1 of 8 M6 stage II LS6, producing 431 hp stock w/ 5k miles....he bought the car to collect and now its been put up....but before he did he ran against a co-worker who has a 2003 terminator cobra.....guy just wouldnt stop barking....its pretty stock just a cat-back & a few cooling mods for the blower, anyway my boss agreed to 1 run(i personally wouldnt drive that beautiful car over 3k rpm....if i drove it at all) they went from a 35 mph roll....neither wanted to punish the cars w/ a dig, long story short @ 120mph ss had svt by 3 cars, i knew the earnhardt camaro would give it a fight but i didnt expect what i saw.....which was truely something rare.....a bone stock 4th gen whipping the **** out of a termy, where both drivers had clean runs, in the end i guess the mighty "Terminator" found his match...."The Intimidator"

....one of my buddies filmed it and ill try getting a copy of it monday

Is that a dealership package? Somehow I don't picture GM backing an option setup like that.

Can someone tell me why some were made with less hp than others?

Also, Midnightnavyz28...
Im not throwing off on your kill at all, sounds awesome.
Just curious about this elusive animal.

The 381 version is based off the stock LS1, while the 435 version has a swapped in LS6. Like all GMMGs specialty cars, they'll build just about whatever the customer wants.

Theres a few different versions of the cars, each with their own hp. Entry level, mid, and high. Same thing for the ZL1 camaro's, 3 different motors. A bolt on version(ls1) and bolt on ls6 and than a 427 with everything on it.

Bone stock is a little bit of a stretch wouldn't you say? What did your boss pay for the SS anyways? I would guess at least $50K.
