Replacement Rack & Pinion

I'm planning to replace my rack and pinion assembly as I can move the pinion shaft (part that mounts to the steering coupler) up and down 1/2 inch. Searching the internet I've found 4 brands of rebuilt rack & pinion assemblies: A1 Cardone $129, Moog $339.16, TRW $280 and TRW "Sport Suspension" $298. All these prices came from the same retailer (expressautoparts.com). Give me your opionions on what I should buy. I did get a price quote for a rebuilt unit from GM (Fred Beans) and it is $281 but I don't know what parts (Moog, TRW, etc) are used. Also, what is the "Sport Suspension" version of the TRW rack & pinion?

Re: Replacement Rack & Pinion

In this case I'd go OEM. The "sport suspension" rack might be for the SS or 1LE, but I doubt it's more than a ricey gimmic.

Failing that?

The TRW one, as it's affordable and in my experience they make great parts. Not to mention cardone and I have had some "differences" in the past.
