Question Rack & Pinion Help.

On my 1997 Camaro Z28 I have no power steering all of a sudden.
How can I tell if it's the Rack & Pinion or the pump?
I pulled the lid off the reservoir and there was presser there so I don't think it's the pump.
But I want to be sure before I buy a Rack & Pinion for $150 +.
Thanks for any help.

Check to see if your water pump is dripping on the accessory belt; common problem causing the belt to slip on the power steering pump.

Nope the water pump is OK.
I jacked up the car today and while it was on jack stands the power steering worked but it does not work when the car is on the ground.
So I guess the pump is bad.
The pump must be bypassing.
I will replace the pump since it's warranty at auto zone and see what happens if it still does not work then I will know that its the rack and pinion.
I would rather take the pump off then the rack and pinion.
