Questions on torque arm/relocator
Questions on torque arm/relocator
Just put on bolt in UMI SFC's (car feels way better/quieter), UMI non-adj lower control arms (rear), UMI non-adj panhard rod, and have an s60 rear with chromoly driveshaft on order. For now I'm going to run the stock torque arm, but maybe for christmas I was thinking about upgrading. I'm looking at the UMI adj vs non-adj torque arm and definatly will get the relocation kit. Do I need the adjustable one? Car is a daily driver for now, but will be a drag racer down the road. Car is stock height, and I will NEVER lower the car.
Thanks,
James

You need an adjustable torque arm to set the pinion angle. Higher HP requires an increased negative angle. Its not limited to lowering the car.
The S60 may also have a slightly higher pinion centerline, referenced to the axle centerline, which would require an adjustment as well.
I can't see investing all that money in a drivetrain, then poor-boying it with a non-adjustable torque arm.

Not trying to poor-boy it, just didn't know if I need adj or not. Car will have 500rwhp down the road and see alot of dragstrip. To me it looks like the adjustment point is a "weak spot" and could possibly snap.
The more adjustments on the car, the more complicated it is to setup. Therefore I want to upgrade for my application, but not over-do anything like I see some people do.
