Question
Question
I know it is the age old question about shocks. But i did a search and heard a lot about bilstein but nothing answered my question. I can get a pair of front bilstein oem shocks with 2k miles on them for cheap. How are the oem bilsteins vs the aftermarket ones? It is a DD car so i dont need the crazy super adjustable ones, just an upgrade for my 96 trans am. Also how are the kyg gas adjust rears, any good? I would assume the bilsteins front and kyg rear do not match well. thanks
Strano has a sale on the SLP valve Bilsteins.

SLP Bilstein shocks are ON SALE and have FREE SHIPPING*
*Shipping is free, there is a $5 handling fee added for drop-shipping charges to expedite the orders due to demand.
These shocks are built to SLP's specifications by Bilstein and are for use in road racing applications. They give excellent control for daily driving and provide a competitive edge on the road course. The shocks are valved to produce a comfortable, yet firm ride on the street. They also perform like a race shock during road course maneuvers. The ultimate in a non adjustable dual-purpose shock.

Sam strano would be the guy to answer all your questions about shocks.
But I believe that the Bilstein SLP shocks have a softer ride than the Bilstein HD's and therefore don't handle quite as well.
I also believe that the new Rear Bilstein HD shocks are valved differently than the older ones to improve handling.
I don't know about KYG or if they would work well with Bilsteins.
