Unhappy To Put it on the Ground

I'm starting to give up on the whole "upgrade" thing
First - since Ive put 18's (y2k's) all around the riding quality went to s**t. (not like it was perfect before) even with more-or-less good tires Ive started to have a serious traction problems. One oth the rear's (driver) is scraping the inner wail on every curb - even with extended hammering on it. The other one is ok. The strangest thing is before I rotated the wheels from the back to the front It never happened (different tire brand thought).
Back to traction. In the last 3 month Iv'e put SFC's LCA's and Adjustable PHD with the little difference of the riding. Yes - my car takes off way better on the perfect road but their is practicaly none in where I live.
Also Ive noticed the squickelling sound from the DS rear wheel when I push on the car downwards (yet another thing to fix).
What else can improve the rider quality. If I get the set of better/adjustable shawks for the rear, can it fix - even a little?
Thank's in advance

Alex

Re: To Put it on the Ground

Sounds like you've just been buying parts and putting them on w/out any consideration of fit and what they do in comparison to what you want.

Of course shorter sidewalled 18" tires will make the ride worse. SFC's will too, and so will your LCA's if you got poly bushings.

Yes, better shocks will help some. Adj. isn't necessarally better.

What springs are you running?

Stock - can't really lower the car since I rub it on all the curb's as/is

So when you push down on the rear of the car it goes "squickell-squickell"?
Are you keeping your suspension bushings lubed? Noisy suspension can be caused by dry LCA and PHB bushings and swaybar bushings and endlinks. Grease them all up (use non-petroleum grease for poly) and that should that squickelling.

1. Sounds like the wheel tire combo may be too large or have a bad offset.

2. SFC's stiffens the chassis, so you will feel more.

[QUOTE=Bud M]So when you push down on the rear of the car it goes "squickell-squickell"?
[QUOTE]
exactly

I'll grees it up and see what happens.
PHB has "endlinks"-not sure about the name (steel berrings) on both ends.
Ill put some grees on it as well.

this is strange because it is the original corvette rims ad tires.
As much as a read about it, their is not too many issues with the fitment.

Now for the shocks - will it be worthy to upgrade? what brand would you guys recommend to make the ride more berable.

thank you in advance

Re: To Put it on the Ground

Endlinks are the rods with bushings on them on the ends of the swaybar. The pieces on the ends of your PHB are rod ends. They won't squeak. The plastic/poly pieces in the suspension will.
