Panhard bracket replacement?

My son hit a curb drifting (pretty hard). It bent the support bracket on the right side that the panhard bar bolts to. Is there an aftermarket replacement for it. The factory one is tack-welded to the frame now. It's on a 98 Z28. Any help is appreciated, Jay

I think all they really have is a relocation bracket to lower it for exhaust clearance but that comes with the whole body brace and it bolts to the original panhard bracket so I don't know what that really buys ya. It seems to me like you got to repair or make a new one and weld it back on there.

I found one to be removed from a wrecked car. It will need to be removed and welded onto my car. Anyone had any experience with this. I hope it's a simple matter of putting the new where the old was.

If the "arm" (bracket) welded to the car bent, what happened to the upper brace, which is supposed to hold the welded arm in place? It would seem that is would have to bend as well to allow the arm to be bent. Might want to examine the upper brace very carefully.

To replace the bracket, it will probably take some reinforcement of the chassis sheetmetal around the point where the bracket gets welded, and a couple gussets in the side-to-side direction to strengthen the attachment and resist side-to-side bending.

Fred, you are spot on. The upper brace did bend as well. I have a replacement. I will take your advice and do some extra reinforcement to the new bracket as we attach it to the frame. Hope to do it this weekend. Finding a replacement rearend is becoming a bit difficult. (low budget) Thanks for all the help.
