Question stock speaker sizes for '97Z??

I know the ones in the doors and by the backseats are all 6 3/4, but what size are the ones in the hatch compartment? I think Crutchfield says they are 4", but I just want to check and make sure before I spend money to replace them all.

Thanks!

it's the same size for the front and sail panels, the ones in the hatch area are 4". But I would not bother replacing them. Just spend your money on some good front components and don't buy from Crutchfield.

Just out of curiosity...Why not buy from Crutchfield? I've never had any problems from them.

Thanks,

Brian

depending on which brand you are buying, you can go to your local Circuit City, or most shops, and buy the same equipment for the same price (sometimes less), minus shipping. And I'm sure that the tax will be less than shipping from Crutchfield. I'm not saying that it's a bad company, but that their prices are not competative at all. If you are looking into buying online, there are plenty of reputable sites which sells less than Crutchfield and some are even authorized dealer.

Question

One more question, if you don't mind...about the component systems that Crutchfield sells...what does a crossover do, where is it wired into an audio system, and if you have a stock head unit and just upgrade the stock speakers is there a need for a crossover?

Thanks again!

Brian

a crossover controls which signals goto which speaker/tweeter. All the highs are filtered to the tweets and any frequency less than that is sent to the woofer. The crossover installs as if you were hooking it up to regular speaker, with the negative and postive wires. Also if you have a regular stock system, not Monsoon or Bose, then it shoudln't be a problem.
