what happens if the master cylinder runs dry? i think mine did.

btw, i have a diagnostic scan tool, and can read and clear codes. i have not started the car yet, either.

 

You get air in the brake lines, and need to add new fluid, and completely bleed the system, starting with the ABS unit, and then working on the 4 calipers in the correct order.

It would be very unusual to run both parts of the master cylinder dry. You should have had the "BRAKE" light on the dash on. You need to find out why it went dry. Other than replacing my fluid completely with a full flush, I don't think I've ever had to add fluid in the 11 years I've owned the car.

 

it went dry because i am doing all the brakes, lines, and painting the calipers. i had the all the lines off and haning, and i just kept driping. not that big of a deal...just gonna be a major PITA to get straight.
