i am currently trying to install an 8 point cage in my 1996 pontiac trans am formula. wondering where the main hoop welds in etc. any advice is appreciated, Thanks.

 

Have you read the NHRA rules for installing a weld-in roll bar (it isn't a "cage") in a unit body car? They also provide minimum dimensions for locating the bar relative to the driver position. The main hoop can not be more than 6" behind the helmet.
