Roll Cage, Did you install it?

Hi all,

I am in the process of installing an S&W 8pt cage into my '83, I am having trouble getting the metal plates hot enough to pound to match the floor? I am using a MAPP Gas torch, I was told this would work, I cant get the metal red hot however, even after like 5 minutes on holding the torch on. Am I going to have to buy an Oxy-aceteylene torch to do this? I hope not. Thanks, for the help guys.

I installed the SW cage about 4 years ago and used an oxy-act and it worked just fine. Make sure to anneal the welds when you are done.

Okay, I guess I'm going to borrow my buddys torch this weekend, I am starting to understand why everyone wanted around 700 bucks to install this sucker. Oh, well, I'm having fun.
