Different suspension options 4th gen

Well as I have mentioned in recent post I am doing bushings, front end ect ect. What I have discovered is that in addition to the well known 1LE package that their is a F41(or something like that), and I guess the other would be the normal package. Could not get a code on the last, only answer I got was "you either have a 1le, "f41" or the one without". Now as I mentioned previously my upper control arms are basicaly "boxed" in with a metal strip welded in the open cavity on the bottom side. I know it is stock being that I am the only owner of the car. Anyone know anything about this, I could have the f41 number wrong, did'nt write it down.

Just looked, I have the FE2 package. Now the question I have is why would my uppers be boxed in. I have not heard of anyones upper control arms being boxed in, nor have I seen any.

This won't answer your question about the control arms, but "FE2" has been a question that comes up about once a year. My understanding is that FE2 is the normal Z28 suspension, though it is listed as a separate RPO (but then so is paint, decals, and plenty of other stuff that appears on every car).

UPon discovery of my upper control arms, I have been real interested in them. Like I said several weeks ago, a friend gave me a set of UCA's that were not like mine. I dont know what year they came off of other than that they were a lt1 car. I suppose what I am intrigued about the most is that I've never seen the factory box one of their metal stamped pieces in like my UCA's. It would be nice if they did more often! Once I get them off, I'll take a picture of the two and post it.

While I'm intrigued as well, let me play the devil's advocate. I haven't heard of folks' upper control arms breaking or bending, so it appears you just have heavier UCA's, not necessarily better ones. Now if you found a 12-bolt under there, or maybe a better distributor, I'd say you're on to something
