I just picked up nice Rally Red 2002 SS 6 speed with only 68,000 KM, yeah in Canada. Hate metric, didn't vote Liberal in the 70's and don't now.

It's an SLP modded car. Don't plan on doing any major drivetrain mods. I think the 345 HP LS1 will be plenty. I sold a 2005 Corvette with the LS2 about 6 years ago and didn't really need that much power. It was an automatic.

I also had a '79 Z28 for 6 years about 20 years ago. Built a mild 350ish HP 350 for it. Was fun with the Borg-Warner Super T10 and 3.73 posi.

What I'm thinking of doing just to stiffen up the chassis as it is a T-Top car is adding a shock tower brace and bolt in sub frame connectors.

It has the dual-dual SLP exhaust and I'm wondering what sub frame connectors will fit with this exhaust. Don't want weld in parts.

 

Metric is the best system, easy for simple minded folks to understand. No offense.

 

Yeah, it is based on 10's, that does make it easier to work with.

The metric system was forced on us by the current Prime Minister's father in the mid 70's.

The narrative fed us was that world trade was mostly done in metric and it would save the country money on conversions. Most not realizing or caring that about 80% of our trade was with the US and you guys sure as he11 weren't going metric.

This would not have flown today with the internet and all the exchange of information it affords us.

Only part of the metric system I don't really mind is the temperature.

 

The US went "metric" decades ago. But we don't use the metric system exclusively in the US because our leaders are idiots elected by idiots. However almost everything in my house is marked in "US" and metric units. The only exception I found today was an item made in China, ironically. Medicines are almost always marked only in metric units. What our idiot leaders do not seem to understand is that, for the large part, we are using the British-based French-sounding Avoirdupois system with no roots in the America's whatsoever.
