Post Anyone experienced with R&R'ing LS1 heads?

Anyone interested in earning cash to R&R a bent exhaust valve on my driverside head? I have two quotes, one which seems high (~$1500+ cost for any machine work) and the other which I'd have to wait at least two more weeks. I'm really getting concerned about further damage to the head.

Any takers?

Let me clarify - it's only removing the head, possibly taking it to a machine shop, check installed height on all 8 valves (shop may do that), and reinstalling. I just found out that the dealership tech in Illinois did not check the installed height of the valvesprings back in June.

Frank - I'll call...

hey jim...check out the new 02 ls6 valve springs...they hold up to .600" and wont fail like the peice of **** comp camps springs u are running..no offence lol...but i have had very bad experience with k-motion and comp cams springs on ls1's...but all the gm ls6 springs 01's hold .540" lift and they will last a lifetime...and the 02' ls6's are up to .600" and will last 1 day less than a lifetime lol....for real man check it out..i hate to see you keep breaking springs and rockers over comp cams ****ty product line...the ls6's use a brass silicone inpregnated retainer so they are a little heavier...but who gives a damn if they will live much longer...just lookin out man..later,
carter

Hey Carter,

No offense taken my man! You ain't sh!ttin...I think we could set daylight savings time by my friggin valvesprings.

fwiw, the only spring failures I've had have been on the Rev 3115's (recommended by Norris both sets). I've never had CC springs in the car until this past June when I had the 918's installed. All the same, I want these f*ckers to last a lifetime if nobody's gonna offer an aftermarket 'change valvespring' LED on the instrument cluster LOL
