Gears can i tune

Does anyone know if the speedometer goes through the computer before the guage in a 93? In other words can i have the computer programed for a set of 3.73 gears? I do know that the speedometer gear is not cable drive and when hooked up to a scan tool the tool reads xmph, thanks for any help guys.

Not sure on a 93, I know on my 94 the speedo was 25mph off at 55. We just retuned the PCM and got it all corrected. For a 93, you may need to burn a new chip.

I guess that is what i meant, i am getting a custom tuned prom and was wondering if they can tune the gears into the computer or does the signal go directly to the guage?

I'm pretty sure on the 93's you have to change the speedo gears to make corrections.

You should be able to tune it via the PCM or via the speedo gear which I believe is in the transmission?

Did you try a "search"? I know the issue with the 93 speedo corrections has been addressed many times before.
