Question 1993 z28 project car. need advice please.

I am purchasing a 1993 z28 this weekend (just need to pick it up). It had an LT1 and a transmission. I just have a perfect body and nothing under the hood to work with. I know I want to put a 350 engine in it and a good decent transmission. I have been searching the classifieds on craigslist.com and I'm finding lots of 350 engines. Problem is they are all carbed. Is it possible to change this to a fuel injection (without spending big bucks)? And let me know what you would do to so I can have some good ideas. (I'm not to mechanically inclined which this is why I ask.

From the sound of things, you'd be better off finding a used LT1 and 4l60e or T-56 from anywhere like a junkyard or the forums... You "COULD" convert an older-style SBC with something like a TH-400 or TH-350 coupled to it but the time and energy spent that is necessary to complete a project like that is likely going to be wasted due to your inexperience. Also, a more complete description of the car (Miles, Tranny, overall condition, any accessories included?, ect...) would help us to help you better. If you have any other questions, you can PM me personally.

If its for road/drag racing only then you can use a carb engine.... If you are building a street machine, then the vehicle must be able to pass 1993 EPA standards...

You can easily pick up a 93~95 LT1 engine w/ trans cheap at salvage yards.... FYI: The '93 is different from the 94~96s....

and dont forget, with the lt1 you need the whole wiring harness and pcm too, so when you buy an engine see if you can get the original computer and everything with it
