Code P1441 ???
Code P1441 ???
<You are OBD-II and the cheapest thing would be to go to Autozone and let them scan it for free. Make sure you get the exact code from them and come back here for more help.>
Hi All, Thanks for the advice,
I went to A Zone and got the P1441 code.
She called it a "manufacturer's code" and had no info on it.
What does it mean?
Car seems to be running ok...
Thanks
Evan

I just searched and read alot about cabon in the line etc.
So is one end of this line on the canister in the driver's rear fender well and the other end up off the solinoid at the passenger valve cover?
Exactly where are the ends of the line locatd that I need to remove and which side do I blow the air through?
Thanks
Evan

P1441 = Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) system flow during non-purge
refer to diagram
That means that the vacuum switch (#11) detected the presence of vacuum when there was not supposed to be any (when the solenoid was supposed to be off). Check for the presence of charcoal in lines #1 and #2. #2 is wrapped with the fuel lines and goes back to the charcoal canister in the RH wheel well. That is where you could disconnect it and blow it out, if needed.
Also check #11 and #7 (the solenoid) for any charcoal contamination. Your solenoid could be stuck open (in which case, you would be able to draw air through both ports on it when it was not operated). Or the vacuum switch could be faulty and reporting the condition in error.
If you want to know what a DTC means in the future, click the DTCs link in my sig for codes specific to 93-97 f-body cars. You might also want to visit my Tech Page for all kinds of other info that might help you out.

In effect, you've just blown off the most knowlegable, helpful and friendly guy on this entire site.
Good luck getting help. I know I'd think twice before getting into this thread.
