Get some CompCam 1.6 full roller rockers, non self aligning. A set of hardened pushrods and a set of GMPP guideplates. Then you need a set of HotCam springs and a tune from madz28.com, a sponser. Should be worth about 25 to 30 hp.

Sounds good.. I'd like to add that if you are planning on doing a cam in the new future maybe some different springs but otherwise thats everything you need.. Shoot us a PM if you'd like some pricing...

Thanks

Good advice. If you want to do it right, go with the 7/16th rockers and studs, buy the CompCam Hi Tech pushrods and get a set of 918 beehive springs. That way you will be set if you throw a cam in it.

Just a thought regarding longevity. Aluminum rockers have a fatigue life that could come into play within the life of your engine if you keep it a long time, and I have been told to 'check them regularly'. However, I don't think you can non-destructively check fatigue cycles, and by the time a crack appears I think breakage is going to happen very very soon. to be safe, I am electing to get the Pro Magnums instead. Steel, and should last a lifetime, more or less. The flipside is that I think the LT4 came with aluminum rollers (Golds), so in that application they must be OK.

Anybody ever break an aluminum rocker body? Anybody have 100k miles on em?

I am starting to think I got bad advice about needing to change them out. I asked around at work and started a post, and can't find anybody that ever broke one without also having other valvetrain issues. Must be ok. Fatigue concern retracted.
